Wow! I just celebrated my 80th birthday and this week's BobBlast is a BIG THANK YOU for your messages, photos, videos and songs! I am overwhelmed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your many kindnesses.
I wanted to paint something to express my appreciation, so I thought a HEART was very appropriate.
In this short demo, I am using Holbein Artist Acrylic Paint - heavy body, Kilimanjaro watercolor paper from Cheap Joe's and Isopropyl alcohol. The watercolor paper has been gessoed.
My steps for painting this heart:
- I wipe the watercolor paper with a mid tone
- Draw in my heart shape with paint
- Add a sprinkle of isopropyl alcohol to get my creative juices going
- Negative shape painting to establish the heart shape
- Start wiping away
- Scrape and scratch into the surface. I added a heart air balloon ladder!
