Have you ever gone into your studio and felt… nothing? No inspiration! I call these "non-painting days"!
Thank goodness I don't have too many of these non-painting days, but when I feel that non-painting day coming on, I make sure I go to the studio - I show up!
When those non-painting blahs happen, first I turn to clean-up and organization: wash my brushes, empty the wastebaskets, organize my paint tubes, etc. This BobBlast talks about some of the tasks I do when faced with the non-painting day!
Watch the video - you will see a couple of demos and my thoughts on journaling. I have found that the more prep I do in my studio, the more ready I am to paint! Do not fear the non-painting days!
Remember what Chuck Close said - "Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work." Be like Chuck Close!
