VUE Wine Bar Fundraiser for Boyne Thunder
July 13th
VUE Wine Bar loves to support Boyne Thunder!
Do you know what this event supports?
Boyne Thunder has proudly partnered with Camp Quality, a non-profit organization that provides year-round support programs and camping experiences to children with cancer and their families and, more recently, welcomed Challenge Mountain as a beneficiary – a non-profit organization that enriches and improves the lives of the mentally and physically challenged through outdoor recreation.
Boyne Thunder has grown into a highly-anticipated event, attracting 120 participant boats and over 550 active participants nationwide. It also draws thousands of spectators on boats and on shore who come to relish all that northern Michigan has to offer throughout the 150-mile course.
VUE Wine Bar has been supporting fundraising for Boyne Thunder every year since we've been open! To date we have donated $15,000 directly to this non-profit and we cannot wait to host our 2024 fundraising event again!
If you're interested in joining us to support this amazing event, please call VUE at 231-437-3816 for more info on reserving tables (4 tops w/a max of two tables only), on our deck, for a charitable donation that will be passed directly to Boyne Thunder. Tables are available during two time frames: 10am-2pm (call for cost) & later from 2pm-6pm for a reduced donation (call for cost). 100% of your donation is given to Boyne Thunder.
As a thank you, VUE provides each 4 top a complimentary charcuterie board and a bottle of champagne to enjoy while watching the fleet go by.
The fleet will begin to pass through Charlevoix at approximately 10:30 a.m. before heading to the first card stop near the marina in Elk Rapids. The second card stop is near the marina in Northport and then the boats go back to Charlevoix for lunch, arriving at the marina in Round Lake around noon. At approximately 1:35 pm, the fleet will leave Charlevoix and head to the third card stop in Bay Harbor, and then on to the fourth card stop at the docks in Harbor Springs. The boats will pick up their fifth card in Horton Bay before turning in their cards in Boyne City.
Cheers to 20 years of Boyne Thunder!

The History of Charlevoix's Six Bridges Program
July 16th
To mark the 75th anniversary of the dedication of Charlevoix’s current lower channel bridge on July 30, 1949, the Charlevoix Historical Society will be presenting a program on the sequential appearance of all six of the town’s highway bridges.
Charlevoix Historical Society curator David L. Miles will narrate a fully illustrated overview of how the town first crossed a narrow channel on a wood plank structure in 1859, then how one bridge led to another up to the newly refurbished giant in place today. Comedy, tragedy, hair-raising close calls and a colorful cast of characters all make up the many unique tales these bridges have to tell.

Pet of The Week-Blake!
This older fella is Blake!
Blake found his way to CAHS as a stray so we don't have an exact age or back story.
What we do know is that Blake is about as laid back as they come and loves everyone he meets, especially kids! Blake LOVES to be outdoors lounging in the sunshine. Once outside this guy goes from little old man to a spunky teenager in minutes!
He walks very well on a leash as well. We believe he is potty trained as he keeps his kennel very clean, we definitely think he has lived in a home in the past. Blake doesn't seem to mind other dogs and we think he would do well with cats. He has been neutered, microchipped and updated on a vaccines.
Stop by and meet this sweetheart today!
