Rental Assistance – Let’s Keep Everyone Housed

On February 19, Gov. Kemp announced that the State of Georgia has received more than $552 million in stimulus funds through the Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

From Georgia Department of Community Affairs: If you’re a Georgia renter who has fallen behind on rent payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may qualify for assistance. The Georgia Rental Assistance Program can provide up to 15 months of rental assistance and utility assistance, paid directly to landlords and service providers on behalf of tenants. Click here for more information

Columbus Consolidated Government has partnered with the Georgia DCA to improve access to this funding. They are holding a Landlord Information Session Thursday, March 18 at 9:00 am and at 2:00 pm. Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) will soon begin administering relief for renter households experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic through the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Alabama Program. They will begin accepting applications from landlords and tenants for ERA Alabama assistance on March 1. Read more

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and Governor Brian Kemp today announced the state will expand its vaccine eligibility March 15, 2021, to include adults aged 55 and older, individuals with disabilities and certain medical conditions. Read more

This latest guidance comes as more than three million doses of vaccines have been administered within nursing homes, thanks in part to the CDC’s Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program, following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorization for emergency use of COVID-19 vaccines.
