Whether you are growing perennials, vegetables, or ornamental shrubs and trees, the best way to have healthy plants is to start with healthy soil. And the best way to create healthy soil is to add compost! Making compost in your backyard allows you to recycle yard and leaf waste as well as food prep scraps into “black gold.” Come learn the tricks of how to make compost in a backyard bin by adding the proper mix of “browns” and “greens.”
This workshop will be presented by Janice McPhillips who has over 30 years of experience as a backyard gardener, URI Master Composter, Master Urban Gardener and has been working at Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset as a Farm and School Garden Educator since 2008. Pre-registration is required for this event. Social distancing is encouraged and masks are recommended for anyone not yet vaccinated.

Norwell - Family Fun Festival Sat, June 4, 11a - 1p. The Academy of The Company Theatre’s Family Fun Day. Attendees have the opportunity to experience excerpts of performances from the casts of A.C.T.’s production of Les Miserables and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as well as A.C.T. alum and contestant from “The Voice” Caitlin Ford.
