Join us this weekend
as we hear from Pastor Andrew Jones
"HELP WANTED"
Matthew 9:35-38
A few weeks ago, I preached on the concept of sabbath - a time of rest set aside to allow us to focus on God. This weekend, I will preach on work. Work is often referred to as the curse of Adam, the worst of the four-letter words, or the daily grind. I am not talking about the necessary chores or jobs that come with making a living. The work to which Jesus calls us is meant to give us purpose and life, yet few of us dare to engage in this kind of work. This is the reason Jesus tells his friends, “ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

June Mission of the Month
Rooted and Rising, formerly United Methodist Children’s Services, is our Mission of the Month for June. They envision a neighborhood where every resident is deeply connected to the community, where shared roots run deep, and where together they meet the community at the level of their needs. Through quality housing, childcare, food security, basic resources, and neighborhood engagement programming, they are committed to listening to and elevating the voices of their neighbors, serving with humility and compassion, and working with their partners to build a more stable, equitable and prosperous community for all Washington Park residents. Let us walk along with Rooted and Rising and their neighbors to help put down roots and rise to reach the community’s fullest potential.
