Just Eight Tickets Remain for September Beach Bash;

Don't Miss Out -- Buy Yours Here Now

Only eight tickets are available for the Y’s Men 2024 End of Summer Beach Bash. Event organizers urge that you act fast to purchase tickets for yourself and your significant other for the Bash on Tuesday, September 10, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion at Fairfield Town Beach.

The Pavilion is an open air covered facility with a deck opening out to the beach with ample tables and seating. Check it out at Jacky Durrell Pavilion.

The Beach Bash promises to be bigger and better this year. There will be a fully catered barbecue including wine and beer with a band. There also will be door prizes, dancing, best Hawaiian shirt contest, a Danceathon, Rock & Roll Trivia, and perhaps a Hula Hoop contest.

Limited to 110 people, the Bash has sold out quickly as it did last year. The cost is $55.00 per person. Click here to review the tempting menu that will be offered.

Click the Pay Now button below to sign up and pay by credit card. You can also pay by check made out to the Y’s Men of Westport/Weston. Mail payments to Y’s Men of Westport/Weston, Box 167, Westport 06881-0167.

Volunteer help is needed for checking in attendees and for bar tending. No heavy work or clean up is involved. Let Dewey Loselle know if you can help.

Because the pavilion is covered, the Bash will be held rain or shine.

To volunteer, or for any questions, contact Dewey Loselle at DeweyLoselle@gmail.com or 203 454-4171.

Y's Man Steve Taranko Helps Bring

Ukraine Art Exhibit to Senior Center

A portion of the Ukraine Art Exhibit at the Westport Center for Senior Activities.

The new Ukraine Art Exhibit at the Westport Center for Senior Activities features the unique War Stamps designs of Ukraine and other artifacts. Y's Man Stephan Taranko helped bring the exhibit to the Center.

In addition, Steve, along with Ross Voytovych and Mark Yurkiw, has spent nearly three years sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine through the generosity of the people of Fairfield County. The exhibit features the now world-famous stamp designs that have also helped Ukraine fund its war expenditures. They hope to continue to send medical equipment, and other needed supplies to Ukraine. The exhibit further explains their humanitarian efforts.

Y’s Men Take Day Trip by Ferry to Port Jefferson

A group of 14 Y’s Men with spouses and guests took a relaxing journey yesterday (Tuesday, August 27) by ferry from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson to wander around that quaint town and explore its many shops and galleries.

They took the 9:30 am ferry which arrived in Port Jeff at 10:45 am and some were able to enjoy the crossing on the ship's open top deck because it was a beautiful, unseasonably cool, but dry day.

Lunch was on their own as they split up into smaller groups and ate the seafood at one of many waterfront restaurants. The conversations were as always, stimulating.
