WHAT TO EXPECT
Webinar participants will begin with an overview of the aspects of law enforcement in Indian Country that are affected when criminal jurisdictions come into conflict. Participants will learn who can arrest whom, what a person can be arrested for and what court can convict him or her. We will focus on interactions among tribal police authority, state and local authority and federal law enforcement authority, then examine changes brought by TLOA. Finally, we will explore civil and other non-criminal alternatives and solutions to deterring criminal behavior. Active participation during the webinar is encouraged and Professor Rosen will answer all questions submitted during the session.
