CPES is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Annual Awards which recognize those who have made a significant contribution to Connecticut’s energy landscape. Awardees include those in academia, industry and public service.


Rising Star Nomination Form: A professional who stands out among their peers as a rising star in or related to the energy industry. This individual is not limited to a specific age range or years of experience.

Luminary Award Nomination Form: A professional recognized as a present leader in or related to the energy industry and who is an inspiration in their career.

Distinguished Professional Service Award Nomination Form: An accomplished and seasoned professional in or related to the energy industry who has made a significant and positive impact on Connecticut’s energy landscape throughout their career.

Excellence in Energy Award Nomination Form: A professional who has made a positive impact in the broader Connecticut community.

United Illuminating Opens Baird Training Facility


This week, United Illuminating (UI) opened their new Baird Training Facility at Old Baird Substation in Stratford, CT. The substation is being repurposed to provide frontline workers in the Substation and Test departments with hands-on training in a safe and controlled environment.
