THE RANCH IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2020 SEASON
We are happy to announce that after a long wait we have finally been able to open for the 2020 season. The horses are ready to go after an extended winter vacation, the trails have been cleared and marked with new signage, and the cabins have been updated with brand new mattresses, curtains and more!

President's Message
We have been busy making the ranch as safe as possible for our guests and staff in 2020. There are new protocols with many rules and regulations. But, that doesn't mean that the ranch experience won't be fun. In fact, we have worked hard to make it even better. We have added 18 new horses to build up the herd. We have added some new outside eating areas under cover at the lodge. We also worked with the Liquor board and now you can enjoy a glass of wine on our outside patio. The front of lodge has been converted into the ambient "Century Lodge" with fine dining and a lounge with a fireplace. Our waterfront tubing is still offered at 4PM as always. Yoga on the dock in fresh country air is still on the program. We have even added a special Yoga/Riding weekend this summer.

COVID 19 UPDATE
We have been working hard to implement policies and procedures here at the ranch to help keep our staff and guests safe. We have closely followed all guidelines and policies that have been issued by WorksafeBC, the Provincial Health Officer and the Federal Government. Every area of the ranch now has it's own set of policies in place which is also documented with signs. All of our guests also receive a COVID orientation. It's important everyone remains safe during their ranch vacation and we are dedicated to making that happen.

Updated Meal Service
We decided to up our meal planning with new staff, new recipes and a new dining lounge. Joining Kim in the kitchen is Jennifer who brings with her a decade of experience in fusion cuisine and specialty desserts. We have added a dining area to the front of our lodge, the "Century Lodge", with a fine dining feel of a century ago. Our outside covered porches are now licensed which gives our guests the option to spread out and enjoy sunset dining with a glass of wine. Our steak night is now our Steak and Prawns night. We are sourcing more farm to fork initiatives which will give our local producers direct access to our kitchen. It adds up to a better dining experience with the latest and safest COVID-19 protocols.

Summer

The summers in BC's Cariboo region are sunny and warm which is ideal for both horseback riding and summer activities by the lake. This is our family period with children on school vacation. The lake is perfect for swimming and we also have tubing and boat rides every afternoon. This is ideal for guests who enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy ranch with campfires, archery, canoeing, sing songs, karaoke and quiet evenings on the dock listening to the loons.

Opening Weekend

It all starts this weekend! Why not drop everything and pop up to the ranch this weekend. Meet our new and expanded herd of riding horses. Meet our new staff and enjoy a restful sleep on our brand new mattresses.

Wild West Family Week
Monday June 29 2020 to Friday July 3 2020
Have you heard about the
FLYING U WILD WEST FAMILY WEEK? Designed for both parents and children!!
This week is designed for families to come up to the ranch and enjoy a full range of activities such as horseback riding, trail rides and gymkhana events.
Children will also be offered nature hikes, canoeing, tubing and archery.
Evening activities will include fun for the whole family such as talent shows, archery, camp fires and game activities.
Please note: this year children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for all activities, as we anticipate a sold out camp we can not offer day only campers.
Be sure to book early as space is limited and spots are filling up fast.

BC Day Long Weekend
July 31 - August 3, 2020
With some of the best weather of the season, join us for the BC Day Long weekend. Spend the morning on the trails and the afternoon on the lake tubing or water skiing. With only a couple cabins left for this weekend, make sure to call in and book your spot so you don't miss out on your BC Day vacay!

Yoga Weekend
August 21 - 24, 2020
We will be offering 2 yoga sessions a day during this weekend for the yoga enthusiasts. These sessions will be run by our instructors, Paul and Jen.

September Long Weekend
September 4 - 7, 2020
It's the last weekend before school and work starts back up. Remember, if you want to enjoy a long weekend at the ranch book your cabin early.

Federation of Canadian Artists
September 20 - 25, 2020
The Federation of Canadian Artists have booked the ranch this year for their Plain Air Retreat. We look forward to having this wonderful group of artists at the ranch.

Fall
September 23 to October 12
|
|
Many guests choose the fall for the clear cool days of riding in the brilliant fall colours. The cabins are heated by wood stoves and are nice and warm in the evenings, perfect to curl up and read a book.

Wrangler Clean Up Week
October 5 - 9, 2020
Getting ready for winter is a big task here at the ranch and this also allows for you, the guest, to have an extra opportunity to join us! This week will consist of stocking up on firewood, putting in new and fixing up existing fencing for our winter pastures and of course general clean up. The cost for the week is $135 per person per night which includes your 3 meals per day, accommodation, use of all facilities and your afternoon of riding.

Thanksgiving Weekend
October 9 - 12, 2020
People love riding in the cool, crisp colours of fall at the Flying U. Let us serve you your favourite Thanksgiving meal, turkey and ham. Tasty vegetarian options are available as well. We will do all the cooking and cleaning, all you have to do is bring the family.
