Dear Friends and Neighbors,
When I first ran for office in 2022, I made a commitment to make Connecticut an even better place for families to live and work, as it has been for my own family. That meant finding ways to fill the shortage of jobs in teaching and healthcare, fields that provide key quality of life services for people, as well as addressing the affordability and availability of early childhood education programs in the state.
In the 2023 session, I was thrilled when a bill I introduced to address the shortage of teachers and nurses passed with bi-partisan support in the House and Senate.
This year, I was proud to co-sponsor two bills which would allow Connecticut to join the social worker and nursing licensure compacts, to allow nurses and social workers from participating states to work in Connecticut and vice versa.
I also co-sponsored and advocated for the passage of House Bill 5002 which will:
- Create a fund to be used for childcare and early childhood education programs;
- Invest in teachers and assistant teachers for school readiness and child care programs;
- Seek more public space for housing early childhood education programs.
We also had some significant financial wins for Greenwich and Stamford in the last session which will go a long way to supporting the organizations that serve our communities. You can watch my video about this here.
I am proud of the work we did in Hartford to make Connecticut a growing and thriving state but I know that there is more that we can do. If I am re-elected, I will keep working on ways to help attract families and businesses to our state, to make it easier for people to join our workforce, and to bring back resources to improve our community and the non-profit organizations serving our residents.
I need your help to continue that work! Please sign up here to volunteer to help on my campaign. If you’d like to make a financial donation to my re-election campaign, you can do so here.
Thank you for your continued confidence and support!
Sincerely,
