We need a break from Mother Nature. These winds aren't good for docks or business. Hopefully, we are done with storms, and summer is on its way. We've got a big weekend with Sharky's opening on Friday, and Cedar Port is having a Poker Run, and finishing there on Saturday as well. At CYC, we have the Kentucky Derby Party, and Lori is doing her Spring Style Show. Then, don't forget Mom the next weekend for Mother's Day. Get your reservations in so mom doesn’t have to cook dinner, again!!
|
This past weekend Tommy had his first official visit at OSU. The place was filled with juniors from all over the country looking to become a Cowboy. We were impressed with how far some students traveled to the event!
We will be busy putting all the docks back together over the next couple of weeks. Thank you in advance for your patience. Unfortunately, these things take time. More importantly, the bars are OPEN, and we are serving some great food. New menus will roll out this weekend, and my favorite is a NEW wine menu!
Let's pray for some good weather, and we hope to see you soon.
Tom

Hello Grand Lakers,
Life at the Club is about to be in full summer lake mode as we are on the cusp of opening up all of our venues here at Cherokee Yacht Club next week. We will not have food specials this week as we are rolling out new menus for Hooker's Bar and Grill, along with the new menu for the Main Dining room as well.
Start the week off on Thursday with Pasta Night in the Main Dining Room, with Austin and Greg crafting up your favorite pasta dishes along with us having our Hooker's Bar and Grill menu available as well. Then make your reservations for Friday and Saturday Night to come take a dive into Chef Matt's culinary universe, as he has some all-new offerings for your enjoyment.
This Saturday, May 4th, we will start offering breakfast in the Main Dining room starting at 9 am until 12 pm. Our culinary department put together a breakfast menu that includes Peaches and Cream French Toast, Avocado Toast, Pork Chops, NY Strip, Pancakes, Biscuits and Gravy, and more. We will be offering freshly squeezed juices, coffee, and a full bar.
Sunday, we will have our Brunch and Mimosas starting at 10 am until 2 pm; Hooker's Bar and Grill opens up at 11 am with the new menu until 5 pm then we transition to our Cookout Menu from 5 pm till 9 pm.
Hooker's Bar and Grill will be the place to be on Saturday from 3 pm as we are having a Kentucky Derby Bash, starting off with a fashion show hosted by Lori at Cherokee Boutique. Lori will have the Maui Jim's Rep out offering up deals on new shades for the summer. We will be offering oysters on the half shell at 3 pm – either raw or grilled on the patio. So come out and watch the greatest 2 mins in sports with a Mint Julep in hand.
Craft Cocktail of the Week: Blackberry Mint Julep—In Honor of the Kentucky Derby, come out and try the classic derby cocktail, which consists of fresh muddled blackberries, mint leaves, bourbon, and a splash of simple syrup.
Monday, May 6th, will be the return of Mexican Mondays, starting at 5 pm until 9 pm in Hooker's and Main Dining.
Sharkey's reopens this week on May 3rd, some come see Lisa and her crew on the lake and try our revamped VIP pizza menu. Sharkey's kicks off Friday with DJ Mo, and on Saturday Night, they will have the Randy Ess Band rocking out on the deck.
VIP Pizza Specialty Pizza of the Week: Greek Goddess—Our scratch-made crust is topped with garlic-infused oil, mozzarella, feta cheese, grilled chicken, red onions, and tomatoes.
I would like to employ an open "email/call" policy to hear what you would like to see at the clubs. So feel free to call, email, or text me about any events, menu changes, or general needs you would want from the clubs. You can reach me at 512-284-5825 and brandon.rascoe@arrowheadok.com.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Clubs,

The weather is gonna be great this weekend. The 5 o’clock somewhere party at Hookers runs from 5 till 7 Friday. Saturday, the 150th Kentucky Derby, the fastest two minutes in sports, will be running on all TV’s. We will have plenty of mint juleps, the official drink of the derby, and ladies, don’t forget it’s also an opportunity to wear those bonnets. Later that night, Kelsey will be the backup vocals for anyone who has had the right amount of beverages for karaoke. Don’t forget the steak and lobster cookout Sunday evening, and we will see you at the place, “where all our friends are hookers.“ Mikey

Great weekend ahead. It's time to start your boats up and get ready for summer. We have a fun-packed weekend here at Grand Lake. On Saturday, there will be a Derby party at CYC, a poker run sponsored by CP, and the opening of Sharky's. If you plan your trip right, you can hit them all and have a great day out on the lake with your friends and family.
Also, while you're getting your boat ready for the trip, you might just want to look at it one last time and see if there is something else you want out of boating. Maybe new features, maybe a surf, maybe a hydraulic swim platform, maybe some more seating, maybe just a boat with a warranty, or maybe just a bigger boat. We can handle any and all reasons to make a trade. Come see us, and we can make it easy for you. Start your day on the poker run with your old boat and end it in your new one. Check out our inventory at WeSellBoats.com to get a jump start, or stop in this weekend and see them live in person.

Spring has SPRUNG! The weather this week has been hot, and I think the "pollenpocalypse" is behind us. It's time to get out, clean the boat up, and get ready for summer weather! Beaver Lake water temperatures are holding in the mid-60s, and the lake level is coming up from all the rain this past weekend. Things are looking up for a full pond with swimmable water conditions. I think after this week's hot spell, you can expect low 70's for surface level water temp. Very bearable, especially for your eager kids looking to shake the dust off their surfboard from winter. Speaking of, if you need a surfboat, we have some great inventory to choose from and some of the most unbeatable deals on all of our Malibu and Axis inventory. If you've been considering a trade, let's get you top dollar while spring is here and the season is kicking off and get you into that new boat you've thought all winter about. Give us a call today! 479-925-1199

There was a very happy family in Kansas that took delivery of their new (to them) 42’ Regal Coupe! I sold this boat here on the lake a few years ago, and it was time for them to get something different. He knew who to call, me! We got it listed for him and handled everything from start to finish. Same thing for the buyer, we handled logistics and scheduling of viewings, survey, any services needing done and transport. The seller and the buyer barely had to do a thing! I aim to make it a simple and easy process! If you are ready to change up your boat situation, I would be honored to handle it for you. I’m batting 100% so far on customer satisfaction on both sides of deals. No matter the size, I will take care of it all.

May is here—historically, our busiest boat sales month! Come see me, and I’ll make sure you get the BEST deal and the fastest yet most thorough service on the lake for your boat deal. I have a personal unit goal this month, and I won’t be beat, whether it’s new or used! I’ll give you the most for your trade, too! I know that nobody likes to be stuck at a dealership for a long time. We are easy and fun!
Check out this new trade-in - a nice 296 Cobalt. Call me for details.

May is finally here, and Memorial Day will be here in a couple of weeks. That means summer is arriving, and the full-tilt boating can begin.
This is a special few weeks for us in OKC, with our First Anniversary Sale Week coming next week. It's been a quick first year with lots of new friends made and plenty of big boating fun! Our Sale will be May 11th thru the 18th. We will have special pricing on all in-stock inventory plus the Trade In Trade Up Program. We will have food and drinks all week in the showroom, with Special Cha boards out on Saturdays. They are outstanding! So come celebrate with the OKC team and take advantage of some fantastic deals throughout the store.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook for new products, specials, and events all year long.

Disney Island News,
Who’s ready for a poker run to benefit the Ketchum kids? Well, it’s this weekend. Start at any of the ship store stops Cedar Port, Hammerhead, Arrowhead, Cherokee, Sharkys (Bonus Chip if you have dinner in the bar on Friday night), and pick up a chip. Then we will meet at Sharky’s from 6:30 to 7:30 and deal some cards. Then, have a pirate contest at 8:00 . You will pay a $20.00 donation at Cedar Port per hand. When we draw the cards, you can buy 5 more hands for $20.00, and the 6th hand is $100.00. Play till you win. It’s all for charity. I want to thank our sponsors. Classic Auto Group, Pryor Chevrolet, Cobalt Boats, Harris Tritoon’s, Tow Boat US, Jennifer and JJ Bauman, Rusty Banks, Steve Rhoades, and many others. It’s not all about the recognition, it’s about the kids, but it does take money. We have raised $2800.00 so far out of the $5000.00 goal, thanks to our sponsors. Now let’s have some fun Grand lake style.
Below picture of Grand Lake Boaters doing what we do.

Staying safe while water rises
We have had multiple days of rain, which means the water will be rising. While you are out enjoying the lake and your boat, please be aware of any hazards in the water and around the docks. Water rushing into the lake will push logs and other debris into the lake. You may not always be able to see debris floating under the water. Always have your life jacket available if you are not wearing it.
Slow down even to an idle if necessary, and have a spotter to help you watch for debris. As always, be safe and have a great time at the lake. If you run into any trouble, give us a call, and we’ll do our best to help you.
| |
|
If you have any questions or need technical assistance with your boat, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with whatever we can. As always, it is best to send us an email so we both have a less chance of miscommunication, unless it's urgent; then please call us. As always, have a wonderful time on the beautiful Grand, and have a safe boating season.
SERVICE IS OPEN 6 DAYS A WEEK
Monday-Saturday 8 am to 5 pm

Happy Friday Eve LakeRockers!
Month number 5 has officially launched, that's right, it's Kyle Larson month. Not that I want you to spend time away from the #thegrandlake, but the track up in KC is where those Cup cars will be running this Sunday. 3 hours and 27 minutes from Arrowhead Boat Sales to Kansas Motor Speedway if Karla is driving, just about an hour away if you happen to own a Cup Car. We might need to flip a coin to see if we drive to work or the track Sunday morning.

We got some much-needed rain this past week. The Grand Lake Level is on the rise and we got a few floaters out there on the big water. Be careful out there on The Pirates Poker Run this Saturday, post an extra lookout on the bow. BTW, all the lucky chips are in the freshly overstocked Arrowhead Marina ShipStore, conveniently located in my office!
Last week we jumped in Karla's 252 Cobalt for a boat ride and to visit some friends. It was Wednesday evening, the lake was like glass and it was the perfect way to end our Monday (Wednesday is our Monday when you are on Arrowhead Boat Sales Time). I might suggest that everyone adjust their weekdays accordingly. Here are some scientifically proven reasons why you should adjust your clock to ABS time: 1. You own the lake, everyone else is gone. 2. It never rains on Wednesday. 3. You own the lake, everyone else is gone.

Nothing cuts the water like a Grand Lake 57 Chevy (aka Cobalt 252). We love visiting the Allen dock (they have amazing pork rinds, and cigars). We are spoiled Brats! Thank you Bill and Mary...
The sweetest boat to make it to our PreOwned inventory this week is this amazing 2008 Formula 34PC. Come check it out this weekend during the Pirates Poker Run, conveniently located at Arrowhead Marina, right smack dab in the middle of all the greatest New and PreOwned boats on #thegrandlake!
|
Ultra Clean 2008 formula 34 PC with HardTop, huge swimplatform, tons of cockpit space and one of the most elegant interiors EVER!

|
The New Barlettas keep rolling in and they are flying off the shelves as soon as we get them unwrapped. Please stop in and test drive one of these amazing TriToons this weekend during the poker run. It would be best if you came by boat, that way we can evaluate your trade on the spot!
One of the coolest color scheme/layouts of all time on a Barletta. A brand spanking new, 2024 Corsa with the entertainment layout and double bimini. Powered by a V10 350 Merc. Bam, this one is SOLD! But we have more!!!

Save the date! Saturday June 15th, 2024. The Beaver Lake Pirate Poker Run is a fundraiser for the Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Department. The event will cover the lake from Prairie Creek Marina to Starkey Marina, and Lost Bridge Marina. The run will run from 10 am to 6 pm, with check-in beginning at 9 am at Starkey Marina and Prairie Creek Marina. This event is NOT a race, but a day of fun on the water with time to grab lunch, swim, and gather your cards during a great day of boating.
|
We have another exciting weekend at the lake!!!

Maui Jim trunk show 12 pm-4 pm
2024 Style show 3 pm-4 pm

So, we had a bit of storms and wind last week. I had just walked into the ship store when it hit. That is the first time I have seen waves rolling all the way over the breakwater! The Seasnatch crew got to work quickly and put the E dock ramp back into place. There was wiring, and things pulled loose, but everything is back in place now, and we are open for business!

THUNDER NEWS, NASCAR, PGA, & KHS SPORTS
Thunder got off to a great start by whipping out the New Orleans Pelicans in four straight games. The stage is set well. They will get a few days to rest and heal up. They now will advance to the second round against either the Clippers or the Mavericks. A convincing start by beating New Orleans in the best of 7 series in four straight games.
The next game up will be Tuesday night. The time has not been released yet.
NASCAR moves to the Kansas Speedway this Sunday. Last week's winner was Denny Hamlin. Our Home state boy from Norman Christopher Bell finished 34th due to an accident.
PGA will be playing at the C. J. Cup Byron Nelson McKinney, Texas. Last week's top players were McIlroy and Lowry, who won Sunday, beating Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer with a nervy par on the first hole of a playoff.
Ketchum Warriors baseball started regional play this week after winning Districts last week. The bracket is below. Go, Warriors!
The Ketchum Boys Track team is headed to State Friday. CJ Weeks is running in the 4x1 and 4x2 relay as well as the 400, Rowdy Mullin in the 4x1 & 4x2 relay as well as the 100, Aiden Hicks and JT Trout in the 4x1 and 4x2.

The 150th Kentucky Derby, Style Show, Bonnet Contest, best-dressed couple, Oyster Roast, and Derby party will begin at 3 pm, 5:57 pm is post time. A barrel of fun with plenty of “Blackberry” Mint juleps to stir things up. An All American event, we are proud to be celebrating and doing an “IN House” track betting game. No outside bookie, people in the Hookers take home the money. It’s a lot of good times, plus get set up with threads and shades and threads from Lori’s boutique. Water temps will be approaching 70, maybe this week. We are at the very edge of the jump in the water for summertime activities.
Check out the Club calendars for Sharky’s season-opening, Saturday morning ala carte breakfast, and the first Mexican Monday of the season, Monday, May 6. There are all new menus everywhere, and those will be the specials this weekend. Come and try them all out!
There is a Pirates Poker Run happening out of Cedar Port Marina on Saturday. It will end up at Sharky’s with the Randy Ess band. Hopefully, there will be good, warm weather. The reason for the event is to pay off the Student lunch program at Ketchum. Would you please come and help?

Next week, we will have an In-Water Boat Show at Arrowhead on Friday and Saturday. Come look at what the best in boating has to offer. Then take a ride and even DRIVE the boat of your dreams & you can even BUY the boat on the spot and take it home! Ride’em, Drive’em, BUY them all one simple transaction. Touch, see, feel, and drive what you are buying.

We are diligently working to repair the storm damage we received at AYC and CYC last Friday morning. A good amount of damage to D dock at Cherokee and A dock ramp at Arrowhead. It also damaged the stiff arm we repaired at Arrowhead from the fire. The state inspector was coming out Friday morning to give us approval. At 8 am, the wind storm came through and kinked it and the fuel lines, setting us back and out of the fuel business for another week at least. That little black cloud just keeps following us around this Spring. There is nothing we can do but keep working and asking for your patience. There is 87 octane available at CYC and they have a 24/7 auto pump. We shall overcome!
|
Stay tuned to Ketchum Warrior baseball and Thunder basketball. Post positions and odds are shown for the 20-horse field Kentucky Derby. Horse Bio’s are also listed in the newsletter as a click on.
The SUN is rising over Duck Creek. ( I hope soon! ) No cars, no traffic, and the ONLY thing we overlook is the LAKE! And it is Grand, Beaver, Grove, & Oklahoma City!

Jan Burke~Lake life presents the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities. But, how do you find the time to do everything you want to do? If you’re a golfer who wants to be on your boat during the afternoon and evening, you should consider starting your day with round of golf. There are a number of reasons why playing golf in the early morning is a good way to get in a round before getting out on the lake. First of all, the weather is cooler. Secondly, the course will be fresh. And, more importantly, there are fewer people on the course. What a great way to enhance your weekend at the lake!
The Coves Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole golf course just around the corner from CYC. Contact Mark Hill, Pro Shop Manager, at (918) 782-3220 for membership information, tour the course, or set up golf lessons. And, be sure to stop by the newly-renovated Coves Pro Shop to shop for all of your golf apparel/equipment and enjoy your favorite beverage while you’re there.

MISSY DOUGLAS
Missy Douglas is a Server at Arrowhead Yacht Club and has been employed for 48 years. She graduated from Sand Springs High School and moved to Ketchum where her mom and dad operated a carpet and linoleum shop. Missy states that what inspired her to work for AYC was that her mom and dad became Club members so she was able to meet the staff and really liked the atmosphere. She then decided to apply for a position. Missy was hired and she never left.
Missy said that Arrowhead Yacht Club is like her family and what she enjoys most about working for AYC is the relationships with the members, and her co-workers. Missy noted that some of the most important lessons she has learned in her tenure is to be considerate and to help others, to make sure the members and guests always get the best customer service.
Missy enjoys walking and spending time outside when she is not working. Something you might be surprised to learn about Missy is that she wants a little tiny home!
