We're SO excited to share with you ...

In August, I wrote everyone that we needed help reaching our goal of $13,000 for our Tijuana School Program kids to have everything that they needed to start school. Well, God is amazing, and many people were very generous! I am so honored to say that we received even more than we asked for in prayer and all the kids are equipped and off to school! Mabis who was featured in my opening school program email started university this month and is studying Criminology. What a dream come true! And you all get to be part of this miracle through your prayers, donations and giving! 

THANK YOU! "MUCHAS GRACIAS"  TO JESUS BE THE GLORY!

The day after all the kids received backpacks, uniforms and shoes the GDC women had a beautiful conference titled "Women of Faith". Our dear friend Vivet shared with the women how to let God lead you. Vivet lost her 40+ year old husband and father of 3 to COVID in 2020 and is a true example of letting God build a ministry out of ashes.

I hope that your Summer was blessed and that you are experiencing the hand of God on your life. We at Gracia del Calvario had a wonderful August and September. Yes, it was HOT, but another blessing came in the form of two large mini-split air conditioners to cool the sanctuary! Just a little extra motivation to attend services on those hot days. Most people in that very hot region do not have air conditioning.

 Our biggest news is that on September 3^rd our “School of Ministry” started at the church (photo above). There were 20 students in attendance, and this is a two-year program. It is designed to teach the fundamentals of our Christian faith, how to reach people with the gospel, prepare the students to serve in the church and be a blessing in the community. Some will eventually be sent to serve whether it be in our local church or in another area where God is calling them. Pastor Daniel is leading this school and is passionate about seeing the congregation prepared to fulfill our vision of REACH-EQUIP-SEND. 

"But how shall they ask him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?" Romans 10:14 TLB

It has always been the goal of this church to train up leaders from within the church and we see that happening more every day!

And, to end the summer with a big bang we had a Baptism Bash at the beach in Rosarito. Everyone piled into a huge bus and spent the entire day as a big family of God eating, playing, enjoying one another and 5 people were baptized. One man cooked fried chicken in a big pot in the sand! Yum! This was a very special day for all!

Jose Luis continues to serve at the La Mesa prison in Tijuana every Tuesday. He has the gift of evangelism and almost every week he finds men who want to pray with him to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jose Luis and the team bring hope and the Word of God to these men who live 15 men to a cell and eat, sleep and live in that small area together 24 hours a day. Please keep him and the team in prayer as he travels to El Salvador in October with Lalo Meza and the team with Set Free International Prison Ministry to reach the thousands of men who are incarcerated there.

As we head into the end of 2023, we carry you with us in our hearts and prayers. This church is part of something big that God is doing in all of us. So many lives are being changed and we know that God’s plans are better than ours! Please continue to pray for all of us too as we keep our eye on Jesus and walk in faith. We plan to have a men’s two-day healing retreat called “Go in Peace” hosted by Calvary Chapel Vista in October. North Coast Calvary Chapel is coming December 2 to host the children’s annual Christmas party with gifts for over 80 kids. There is still room on the calendar for your team to visit and serve!

Our tutoring clubs (Mi Escuelita) are back in gear and so is the kids lunch center! Those are two of our community outreach ministries that are making a difference in the least of these. Praise God for His provision!

… And we are praying for you all to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
