Dear Friends,

We are very pleased to announce that, though our primary mission remains to support entrepreneurs in New York City, we have now expanded our services to refugees to include Northern New Jersey! Scroll down to learn more.

We are also happy to report that our 10th annual Accompany Capital Immigrant Heritage Week Awards event was one of our best ever, in spite of the need to hold it virtually for the second year in a row. With inspiring welcomes from New York City Commissioners Manuel Castro and Kevin D. Kim and terrific videos introducing our awardees, we got wonderful feedback from so many attendees! If you missed it, please click the video below.

We held our first Accelerator for women entrepreneurs in conjunction with our new and expanded programs for women entrepreneurs. And we were extremely pleased to be featured - along with client Nigel Nelson - in an excellent article in Next City about an SBA program that has allowed us to make larger Community Advantage loans to businessees we have helped grow.

Finally we continue to offer excellent free webinars that can help you start or grow and market your business. Scroll down for those as well!

Expanding Our Refugee Client Reach to
New Jersey

Accompany Capital was first created to help resettled refugees in New York City start micro or small businesses to support themselves and their families. Over the years, we expanded our services to support immigrants and other under served entrepreneurs as well, but our commitment to refugees has always remained steadfast.
Recently, due to a sharp increase in rent and cost of living in New York, more and more refugees are settling in New Jersey. It is with great pleasure, therefore, that we announce we have expanded our services to include refugees in living in New Jersey and have already made our first three loans.

Groundbreaking Small Business Loan Program Gets Long-Awaited Expansion

In 2018, Accompany Capital joined the SBA's Community Advantage Pilot Program, allowing access to SBA loan guarantees for nonprofit loan funds that specialize in serving groups whom the SBA has historically failed to reach. Earlier this month, the SBA announced several changes including the end of a 4-year moratorium on new nonprofit loan funds joining the Community Advantage Pilot Program, and it’s also extending the program’s sunset date from the end of this year to 2024.

Watch Our 10th Annual Accompany Capital Immigrant Heritage Week Awards

We think this year's Accompany Capital Immigrant Heritage Week Awards was one of our very best with important, inspiring messages from NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Manuel Castro and NYC Department of Small Business Services Commissioner Kevin D. Kim, as well as great videos of our terrific awardees!

Women Entrepreneurship Program Accelerator

Last month we were very excited to wrap up the 2022 Accompany Capital NYWIB Start Up Business Accelerator for Women our first – and very exciting – business accelerator. The 6-week program, which was sponsored by Empire State Development, focused on intensive learning with mentorship to give participants a solid foundation in the skills needed to launch a start-up in NY. We were excited – and inspired – by how many talented women entrepreneurs responded; we received over 300 applications in the first two weeks. After careful consideration, we selected 62 terrific applicants based on their current business stage and their ability to benefit from the program.

SBA Cares

One of the questions clients often ask about Accompany Capital financing is how we work with the Small Business Administration. Our partnership with the SBA is a longstanding and successful one and we are particularly recognizant of the SBA’s significant contribution in providing a lifeline to small businesses as the pandemic threatened to cause so many businesses to fail.
