Pinellas County Rental Assistance Program expands eligibility
Federal funds are available to help residents avoid evictions, pay utility bills
*****The Pinellas County Emergency Rental Assistance Program is expanding its eligibility criteria and streamlining application processing to help more renters who have faced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.
*****Pinellas County residents who experienced a significant reduction in income or increase in costs at any point during the pandemic (since March 13, 2020), may now qualify for financial assistance with rent or utilities, even if their financial hardship was not a result of the pandemic. Previously, applicants were required to indicate proof of a direct or indirect financial impact from the pandemic. The new eligibility requirements went into effect Sept. 7.
*****Applications that were previously denied but may now qualify under the new eligibility requirements will be reconsidered. Applicants will not need to reapply and will be contacted if they are now eligible for assistance.
*****The application portal and additional information can be found at: pinellas.gov/erap.
ChamberCARES! in support of Santa to a Senior
For snowbirds across the border, many of whom are retired, Florida's continued new infections and hospitalization rates — and the sharp politics around mask and vaccine mandates — are of great concern, even for the vaccinated.
Two major Florida hospital systems say they will carry out a plan to require hospital workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 --- but concerns remain about how it could affect staffing.
The quartet will be the first all-civilian crew in space, riding in the SpaceX Dragon Resilience, which previously flew on the Crew-1 mission for NASA to the International Space Station.
The Biden administration on Friday initiated an investigation into whether Florida’s ban on mask mandates violates the civil rights of students with disabilities.
Multiple tropical disturbances have cropped up in Florida’s surrounding waters. Added thunderstorm coverage possible, but for now, the state is in the clear.
