Getting Ready for September

Thanks to your generosity, we sent $5,500 to Haiti to finish the kindergarten building at St. Luke's Episcopal School in Martel. You can see the construction progress below; Fr. Phanord is hopeful the building will be finished in time for the start of school September 2nd.

So many of you gave, and we thank you.

Fr. Phanord expects to have a very large incoming kindergarten class, over 30 kids. He said the total enrollment for the school, kindergarten through 9th grade, should exceed 250 students.

Progress on the Kindergarten building, soon to host 30 students

Diocesan Reception for the New York Haiti Project

On Wednesday September 18th Bishop Matt Heyd will host a reception for current and prospective partner parishes. Click here to see the short invitation video, which includes footage from Martel.

The reception will be at 6:00 PM at Bishop Matt's home, Ogilvie House, on the cathedral grounds, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan. Fr. Phanord is coming from Haiti for the event.

Click here to RSVP. All are welcome and we hope several people can come from your parish.

The purpose of the reception is to celebrate the progress we've made and to help partner parishes stay connected. We plan to share our goals for the next five years as outlined in our strategic plan, which we call Vision 2030.

Bishop Matt wants to help us increase participation with other parishes in the diocese. Currently we have 19 partners; our goal is to have 50 active partner parishes in the next five years.

Let's help our fellow Episcopalians educate their children

We Still Need Your Help

If you were thinking about donating to the New York Haiti Project and haven't gotten around to it, don't worry. It's not too late. Click here to donate through our website.

Giving takes about 30 seconds. Your donation is fully tax deductible. 100% of the money you give goes directly to the people in Haiti.

Most importantly, please continue to pray for St. Luke's Episcopal School and for Fr. Phanord.

Thank you for all your love and support for the people of Haiti.

Christ's peace,
