SBAM Strategic Partner Member Product

Stay Compliant with the Department of Labor

As an SBAM Strategic Partner member you can avoid a common and costly compliance mistake - regardless of which carrier you have for your group health insurance plan.

The majority of our members aren't aware that if you offer a group health insurance plan, it is your legal responsibility to provide your insured employees with a Summary Plan Description (SPD).

An SPD describes the rights and responsibilities of both the employer and employee under a group benefit plan by providing detailed information about the health plan itself.

Your company must provide an SPD to your insured employees within 120 days after the group plan is established. Failure to do so could cost you $171 per day in DOL fines.

We have you covered! Login to your member profile and enter your basic plan information into the SPD template. The complete, compliant SPD will be emailed to you, ready for distribution to your insured employees.

The cost is a one-time $250 fee for the complete, compliant SPD. If you are currently enrolled in an SBAM-sponsored BCBSM/BCN health plan the SPD is free! Click through below for details or contact Sherry Bryan.
