An Important Note From Our Founder

We are delighted to share that Feeding Pets of the Homeless® has a new headquarters. Our new address is 710 W. Washington St., Carson City, NV 89703. Please update your records.

Local donors, partners, guests and volunteers are welcome.

Please note that at our headquarters office, we do not offer services to walk-ins. All services and requests are done by phone Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. PST.  1-775-841-7463.  Leave a voice message if outside those days and times and your call will be returned in the order it was received.

We are proud to be in the new office that allows us to grow. We can hire more staff and help more pets in need. The move is yet another new chapter in our 15-year history!

The first Give a Dog A Bone Charity Concert was a success. We endured a rainstorm that evening as over 100 people attended. Attendees donated over 500 pounds of pet food that night and was delivered to a local Carson City food bank.

The entertainers included The Sam Chase, Greg Gilmore and Rachael McElhiney. The music was outstanding and so well received that the concert went overtime.

Sponsors:  Brewery Arts Center, 10 Torr Distilled and Brewed, Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate, Carson City Toyota, Riverside Veterinary Hospital, G8 Strategies, Artist - T. Cooper Brown, and Hot Rodz.

Thank you to all who helped make this event a success! You can catch the replay above and consider making a donation.

Best wishes,

Genevieve Frederick

Success Stories That Matter
Highlighting Those Who Deserve It

Meet Catfish! “I just left the vet again, they did a check-up on him, he’s not completely out of the woods but he is definitely a whole lot better. I just took that picture (seen here) of him right now. He’s gaining a little bit of weight and the bottom line is he’s getting better though and I thank you so much for your help. It’s one of the nicest things anybody has ever done for me thank you!” – Catfish’s owner

Wellness Clinics

Coming up this month, we are sponsoring two wellness clinics in the Carson City area.

They are being performed by: Galena Veterinary Hospital, Riverside Veterinary Hospital, and Timberline Animal Hospital.

A total of six doctors and their vet techs will be on hand to examine and vaccinate up to 200 pets. This is just one of our programs that your donations support!

We sponsor wellness clinics across the US. If you are or know a veterinarian wanting to participate, please email info@petsofthehomeless.org to learn about sponsorships.

Volunteer Spotlight

Many students reach out to us to learn more about doing good in their communities. Specifically how they can help the animals belonging to people experiencing homelessness.

One recently successful student was able to partner with a large local veterinary office during the final semester of his degree.

He collected over 500 lbs of dry pet food, 640 cans of pet food and 155 pet supply items like jackets, collars, leashes, etc.

Thank you for your dedication to animals!

Caring for Pets of Those Experiencing Homelessness

Dr. David Kowalek, a veteran of the wellness clinic at Feeding Pets of the Homeless, said, “Their means of care may be different, or financially limited, but these pets are very clearly loved, attended to and in some respects have a quality of life that is better than my animals.”

Dr. David Kowalek is a member of our board of directors and a veterinarian in Northern Nevada.

A seed for the next generation

As the seasons change, we can take a moment to pause and reflect on what matters the most.

In addition to providing necessary care for pets of people experiencing homelessness, Feeding Pets of the Homeless is dedicated to thanking our community of supporters and volunteers with resources that can make a difference for the people you care for the most.

So today, I am sharing a unique seed you can plant for a flourishing future: creating an estate plan with our partner FreeWill.

Since beginning our partnership, FreeWill has helped over 30 members of the Feeding Pets of the Homeless community create their estate plans to protect the people and causes they value the most.

In addition to creating a will, you can include a gift in your will to support Feeding Pets of the Homeless. A legacy gift is more than just a promise for the future; it sets a foundation that, with love and care, can inspire change beyond just today.

Your support has meant so much to Feeding Pets of the Homeless, and we hope you consider planting a seed for the next generation with a will today.
