Have you ever prayed for something for a really long time and then when God says "yes", you are surprised that He answered your prayer? This happened to me over the past few months. We have been praying for a missionary or missionary couple to join the ministry that could learn everything that I do on the U.S. side and also help Pastor Daniel and Luz with the Mexico ministry.
I am excited to announce that Mary Ann Nuñez and her husband Javier have heard from the Lord and are passionate about reaching the people in Mexico with Jesus’ love and the gospel! Please welcome them to Grace of Calvary ministries as our first official missionaries! Mary Ann will be the principal partner as Javier works full-time as an engineer, but he will step in when he can.
Mary Ann is completely bilingual, was raised as a missionary kid serving in Mexico and Honduras, currently serves as Program Team Leader of the Children’s Ministry at North Coast Calvary Chapel, and was the leader of our kids Christmas party in Mexico for the last three years. She also has a background in education, finance and their adult kids are both serving the Lord. Mary Ann has extensive experience, leading mission trips in other foreign countries.
I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities that this brings to expand the ministry at Gracia del Calvario in Mexico. Mary Ann and I will be traveling together on a regular basis to Tijuana to assist with the children’s ministry, women’s ministry, tutoring, clubs, and outreach ministry. Mary Ann is an expert in leading international teams, and I encourage you to reach out if you would like to bring a team to serve with us in Tijuana.
Mary Ann will be raising support as a missionary since she will be cutting back her hours at her two part-time jobs that provide income for her family. We will have more information soon on how you can join her on this journey. Many of you know Mary Ann personally and are aware of what a huge blessing she will be to Grace of Calvary Ministries!
We will also be visiting many of our supporting churches this year and as many donors as we can. If you would like to set up a date with us, send me an email and we will make it happen. It would be awesome to share with you personally the exciting things that God is doing through Grace of Calvary Ministries in Mexico! This is all possible because of you!
Thank you for being a part of growing godly leaders in Tijuana to reach this huge city for Jesus Christ. Thank you for sacrificially giving to educate so many kids. It looks like we will have 7 youth from the church attending UNIVERSITY in September! That IS a miracle!! I will send another newsletter soon sharing all the exciting stuff that is going on and we just want to say THANK YOU for being champions to reach the lost and the underprivileged! All glory to God!
