We are proud to support the LGBTQ+ community!

As Pride month comes to an close, we want to emphasize that we are here to support the LGBTQ+ community all year long. We provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered legal services to all survivors of gender-based violence, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation. We fight for legislation that is inclusive and considers the rights and needs of ALL survivors. We are outraged at the war being waged against the LGBTQ+ community by policymakers, public officials, hate groups, and individuals. We will continue to do all that what we can to stand up for the members of this community and ensure that they are not erased, ostracized, or harmed.

Thanks to our partners at the Rose Andom Center for sharing a booth with us at Denver PrideFest last weekend! We had a blast and are grateful to work in a place where there is so much representation of and support for the LGBTQ+ community ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The annual celebrations we know today began as marches to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising, which was a response to a 1969 police raid of the Stonewall Inn, a gay club located in Greenwich Village in New York City. Parades and festivals held throughout the month of June are a throwback to this important time in the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement and remind us of the fight for equality that continues today.

Project Safeguard is seeking an Bilingual Legal Advocacy Program Coordinator to ensure that our services are appropriate, accessible, and available to Spanish-speaking and other individuals seeking services in the 17th Judicial District. This position must be able to accomplish all required job responsibilities in both English and Spanish.

CAIA and Aspen Award

During the first week of June, our staff attended the Colorado Advocacy in Action conference and we all had a great time learning new things and connecting with other organizations doing important work to serve survivors in Colorado and beyond! We were also honored with the Aspen Award for Organizational Excellence by Violence Free Colorado, and our Executive Director, Jennifer Eyl, presented a session on Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Options in Protection Order and Family Law Cases.

Colfax Marathon Awards

We were honored to be the recipient of a $1,000 award from a winning Colfax Marathon Relay team earlier this month! The University of Colorado Denver – Geonerds relay team came in 3rd place in the Consumer Services and Products industry category of the Corporate Relay Division and selected Project Safeguard as their charity recipient. We were also awarded $500 for being a top recruiting team this year! Thanks to all the runners who made this possible and to everyone who donated to support our work. We hope to participate again next year, so stay tuned for updates.

Many nonprofits rely heavily on year-end giving from individual donors, which is why you get bombarded with emails asking you to give in November and December.

For some people, making a smaller monthly donation is more budget-friendly, and helps provide sustainable funding for nonprofits.

It's easy to make a one-time or recurring donation to Project Safeguard through our Colorado Gives 365 page.

Many workplaces have programs that allow employees to give to a charity directly out of their paycheck and some employers will even match donations! If you have made or are planning to make a donation, ask your employer if they will match it.

If you work for the City and County of Denver, you can give to Project Safeguard through The Denver Employees Charitable Campaign.
