Seldom does a week pass without a call or email asking me to participate in a survey! If I knew the organization behind the survey research, I would probably participate. With that as a backdrop, I need your participation in a survey we are conducting.

We need your input as we embark on a new, three-year strategic plan. A critical part of this process is to understand how we can better serve our members and support the state’s business climate.

It is our goal to design the strategic direction for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce as a plan for the future of Delaware’s business community—one that focuses on the issues that matter most to you.

News You Can Use

Welcome to August! This is a very light week for major economic reports and data, and we start today with remarks by Chicago Fed President Goolsbee, followed by June U.S. trade deficit numbers on Tuesday. We see U.S. consumer credit usage results for June on Wednesday afternoon and wholesale inventories for June on Thursday.

While the economic data portion of the week is light, the schedule for companies with earnings calls is very full. BioNTech, Carlyle Group, Freshpet, Tyson Foods, Aecom Tech, Avis Budget, CSX, and Simon Properties are among the companies with calls today. Caterpillar, Duke Energy, First Watch Restaurant Group, Portillo’s, and Uber Technologies are among the group with calls tomorrow. Walt Disney, CVS Health, Lyft, Brighthouse Financial, Monster Beverage, and Zillow are scheduled on Wednesday. GoodRx, Kelly Services, Sealed Air, Bloom Energy, and Green Dot are scheduled later in the week.
