NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Amana West Families:

Thank you to everyone who came out to our booth at Taste of Mableton last week. We had a blast getting to know some of you, and seeing your creative kiddos engineer intricate structures out of toothpicks and gumdrops. We had so many visitors, we had to re-supply halfway through the event!

We couldn't be more excited to be embarking on this journey with all of you. As founding parents and students, you will have many opportunities to get involved on the ground floor and help build our learning community together. We look forward to seeing you at one of the many events we have coming up on the horizon, and learning more about your interests and how you'd like to get involved. In the meantime, we encourage you to join the Amana Academy West Atlanta Parent Connection Facebook group. This is intended to be a virtual space where you can connect with other parents and get to know one another.

Stay tuned for more information about placement testing this spring (likely toward the end of May). Conducting placement testing helps us know what skills and standards your student has already mastered, and gives us the knowledge and tools we need to ensure they are placed in the classroom environment that best suits their needs.

Do you have friends or family members who are looking for a different educational option for their son or daughter? We've still got a few available spots in 1st and 2nd grades, and we'll enter you in a drawing for a voucher for one FREE embroidered uniform item from French Toast Uniforms if a family that you refer completes the enrollment process (including all required paperwork). Just tell them to give us your first and last name when they complete the pre-enrollment application and as soon as they complete their enrollment, you'll be entered in the drawing.

Come see us in the parking lot of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta's Council Headquarters between 10AM and 1PM for a Meet & Greet just for already enrolled families. We'll be handing out swag bags for new students, including a founding student t-shirt, car magnets and more! This is a great opportunity to meet other families, and learn more about how you as parents can get involved.

Come join us from 3PM - 6PM and support our school at Mooyah for some delicious burgers and shakes! This is our first Family Fun Night, and we want you to be a part of it!

All incoming Kindergarten families are invited and encouraged to join us on May 14 from 10AM - 11:30 AM for our first annual Kindergarten Round-up. This is a great opportunity to find out what skills you and your student can be working on throughout the spring and summer to ensure they're fully prepared to start Kindergarten with us in the fall.
