YorkArts Offices Relocated

In advance of renovations to the 10 N. Beaver Street and 118 W. Philadelphia Street facilities, YorkArts staff has relocated to CoWork 155, at 155 W. Market Street in downtown York. We  will still maintain our (717) 848-3200 phone number and receive email correspondence through @yorkarts.org addresses. Mail can still be addressed to 10 N. Beaver Street since the Post Office is forwarding to our offices at CoWork155.

We are so happy to join the creative folks in a great environment to get work done AND meet a cadre of interesting members. .......

Capital Campaign Update
YorkArts' Endowment Fund
YorkArts President Donna Sylvester accepting a Capital Campaign endowment donation from
Ralph Serpe (middle) and Bryan Tate.

Art Memoir, featuring the art collection of Bryan Tate and Ralph Serpe, was the last exhibit in our gallery until we re-open in the fall.

During their closing collector's talk on May 20, Bryan and Ralph announced publicly their support of the YorkArts Capital Campaign.  In doing so, they joined the more than 175 campaign donors who invested in creativity during this campaign so far.  Thank you all!

Because they are committed to their community -- its present and its future, Bryan and Ralph designated their full capital campaign gift to the YorkArts Endowment Fund at the York County Community Foundation.

Thank you Bryan and Ralph for your support!

Is creating a legacy important to you?
Bolstering our endowment is one initiative of our Capital Campaign.  Even though the campaign is winding down, you can join Bryan and Ralph in supporting the future of YorkArts by making a gift to the endowment at any time.

Creativity Counts
Leading Choreographer's Practical Approach to Creativity

Too many times, we dismiss creativity as a magical, mystical or random occurrence. Twyla Tharp, Choreographer, sees creativity as a habit, a muscle that needs to be stretched, strengthened and most importantly rigorously exercised regularly. Tharp's creativity fights the stereotype of creativity as a brain centered activity. She reminds us that creativity can manifest itself in many forms from many different places.

The Creative Habit provides thirty-two practical exercises based on the lessons Tharp has learned in her remarkable thirty-five year career. If you are interested in honing your creative skills this book gets you going with exercises that are grounded in the real life practice of one of America's most creative individuals
