The Coleman Memorial Chapel extends a warm welcome to the community

to participate in the 150th anniversary celebration of the laying

of the chapel cornerstone that occurred on August 26, 1874.

All of the events, with the exception of the tour of the Steigel-Coleman Mansion,

are free to the public. Donations to support the maintenance of the chapel will be appreciated. Please bring your own lawn chair.

The Pastoral Respite Ministry at Silver Bay YMCA is celebrating 25 years of offering rest and renewal at no cost to those who faithfully serve in ministry. We’re delighted to invite you to experience this special season of respite and rejuvenation.

Our 100% donor-funded program has supported thousands of dedicated individuals and their families, providing complimentary stays at our Brookside Community House or Trinity House. Reservations are now open for the September 1, 2024 to June 15, 2025 season.

Founded through the generosity of Silver Bay community donors and Silver Bay YMCA, this program acknowledges the unique demands of ministry by offering a serene environment on Lake George, an ideal setting for prayer, writing, sabbaticals, and reflection.

This season, we’re introducing Respite Tracks—self-guided modules tailored for clergy addressing Pastoral Burnout or Ministry Transition. These tracks include a curated selection of videos, audio devotions, and leading industry books to support your professional journey.

During your stay, you can also meet with our Spiritual Life staff for direction and pastoral support. Our two ordained ministers are available to provide care to all guests.

The 11th Annual

Covenanter Scottish Festival & Highland Games

September 7

1199 Valley Road, Quarryville

9 AM to 5 PM

Held on the Middle Octorara Church campus - proceeds benefit the efforts to maintain and restore the Octorara Covenanter Presbyterian Church and Schoolroom Museum.

Featured will be popular activities from past festivals including Scottish games, piping competitions, Highland Dancers, a haggis ceremony, sheep herding, spinning and weaving demonstrations, Scottish Clans and vendors, Museum tours, music by Charlie Zahm and Tad Marks, and Fire in the Glen.

New events this year include a Scottish Gaelic Language Village with sessions throughout the day. Also, the CEOL NEAMH PIPE BAND from Lancaster will compete with the Philadelphia & District Pipe Band. Highland Dancers will offer dance lessons.

There will be plenty of good food.

Please bring lawn chairs.
