This is Nun Scents - a seriously red watercolor I did back in my photo realism days. It sold right away, so I never got a chance to show it, but with the internet, I still can! With the internet, you can put your paintings 'out there' and see which ones are most popular by seeing which ones get the most views or hits. On Artfinder, the top three paintings were: 1. Monet, Impression Sunrise 2. Van Gogh, Starry Night 3. Klimt - The Kiss Some places for your online images - Fine Art America (small fee) Flickr (small site is free) and on line shows PA Watercolor Society So far this year, I've been painting small works for my buyers. I'm listing them for sale on my web site, the blogs, and putting them on eBay. I'm also planning to enter some of the online shows, as advertising to send people back to my web site. Art is changing. I am changing. I still plan to do bigger, more serious paintings, but painting popular small works is fun and rewarding, as I'm finished in a morning. My once a week painting for sale on eBay starts off at half the price I would charge in a gallery, so it's the perfect chance to buy an original painting to start or add to your collection - see my website for an easy link to this week's sale. I'm doing one theme a month and February's is Sweet Young Things - adorable kids, like Mary, from the grandsons school Christmas pagent. Maybe I'll be The Next People's Painter! |
