Hansen's Dairy Waterloo marks 15 years!
Fifteen years ago this month we opened our Moo Roo store in Waterloo at 3015 Kimball Avenue. Help us celebrate our anniversary on Friday, June 25, with these deals!

Customer of the Month
The June Customer of the Month is Deni Badker of New Hartford.

"I have been buying Hansen's products for years," Deni said. "I believe the first Hansen's product I purchased was soft-serve ice cream."

Deni mainly shops at Hansen's Dairy Cedar Falls.

"My family is a BIG fan of the milk and cheese curds," she said. "Once we started drinking Hansen's milk, it's hard for us to drink anything else. We love to support local businesses. Your prices are great too!"

Deni has also had the opportunity to meet some Hansen family members and employees over the years, and says she has had nothing but positive experiences. "I know they all take pride in what they do," she said. "Everyone is always so kind and heIpful. You make GREAT products! Keep doing what you're doing!"

Cow of the Month
The June Cow of the Month is a powerhouse in the milking parlor.

Mahoney just turned 3 on May 27. She has had two heifers so far in her lifetime, which we named Mahomes and Miss.

Mahoney is a really amazing cow. She produced 27,000 pounds of milk in her first year — which is well above average — and 9,000 pounds more than her mother produced in her first lactation.

Today Mahoney is producing 135 pounds a day. That's 15 gallons! Mahoney is not only a great producer, but she is friendly and awesome to work with. You go, girl!
Cooking with Hansen's
Rhubarb is in plentiful supply right now, and here's a creamy rhubarb crisp with cherries — or you can substitute fresh strawberries or other berries for the cherries. Pair it with Hansen's Dairy ice cream, and let's just say, "Yum!"

Creamy Rhubarb Cherry Crisp
Prep time: 20 min
Bake time: 60 min
Total time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Servings: 15-20
Ingredients
  • 2 bunches of rhubarb or enough to make 4 heaping cups chopped**
  • 1/4 cup flour or cornstarch
  • Hansen's Dairy Butter (enough to grease a 9 x 13 baking dish)*
  • 3 eggs*
  • 8 oz cream cheese*
  • 16 oz Country View Dairy Sour Cream*
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups fresh or one 16 oz bag frozen, pitted cherries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 - 12 oz package O'Brien's Own Almighty Almond Granola*

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 9 x 13 baking pan with butter.
  • Chop rhubarb into 1/2 - 1 inch chunks and place into 3-4 quart mixing bowl. Add cherries.
  • Sprinkle flour (or cornstarch) over rhubarb and toss to coat evenly. Pour evenly into baking pan.
  • Using a hand or stand mixer, beat eggs until well beaten (about a minute). Add in cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Mix on slow speed, until well incorporated, then mix on higher speed for another minute or two, until creamy.
  • Pour over rhubarb/cherry mix. Sprinkle granola evenly over top.
  • Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Top with ice cream and enjoy!
