Donors ensure memorable 2024 Resident and Family Picnic

Seeing residents and families come together to enjoy a beautiful summer evening—while also enjoying an extra special meal and music—was important to two anonymous supporters of Benedictine Madonna Towers. So they made sure it happened by donating the food, music and supplies for this year's Annual Resident and Family Picnic held on Thursday, August 8.

More than 550 guests enjoyed a 1950's themed party with Spring Grove sodas and food catered by Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe, including tasty barbequed ribs, pulled chicken sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw and cookies.

In addition to the great summer menu, guests tapped their toes to the Swing Street 17-piece band and remembered the good old days while viewing a classic car show. And it was all on the house thanks to generous donor gifts!

Adding an extra special touch of summer were table arrangements of hydrangeas donated by Experience Rochester.

"The food, decorations, music and car show all went together to provide such a special evening with our friends and families," said resident Sarabeth Watson.

NuStep machine gets new life after donation to fitness center

The fitness center has another NuStep recumbent cross trainer to help keep residents active and fit thanks to a donation by resident Gigi Wollenberg. She gave her personal NuStep machine that she was no longer able to use to the Benedictine Madonna Towers fitness center.

The NuStep allows users to perform a walking-like motion from a seated position.

"The NuStep is a great option for maintaining mobility and overall fitness, particularly for those who need to be gentle on their joints," said Wellness Director Collin Volkman. "We are so grateful for Gigi's donation."
