The Assessing Department invites you to come Wed. February 7 at 5pm in the Lower Meeting room at the Town Hall for a Selectboard meeting with Loren Martin, Chief Assessor for Avitar Associates, Warner's new assessing company. Ask some questions and hear about Avitar's general procedures for property assessment and valuation. This is not a meeting to answer specific questions about specific properties. Warner Community Power will begin serving Warner residents with low cost and flexibly sourced energy supply in March. Last year, Warner residents voted at Town Meeting to join the energy cooperative managed by Community Power Coalition of NH which will purchase energy on our behalf, and on behalf of the growing number of other towns, cities and counties who are CPCNH members.
- Letters went out to all Warner Eversource customers on January 22 explaining the program, and ways to opt-out or opt-in
- An information session for Warner residents will be held on January 30 in conjunction with a Select Board meeting.
- Enrollments (if you are not an Eversource default customer) and opt-out choices will be collected in February.

At the January 22 BOS meeting the Board approved the hiring of the next Town Administrator, Kathleen Frenette. Kathy has worked for the Town of Gorham as Director of Finance and Administration and previous to that the North Country Council as Chief Operations Officer/Co-Executive Director. While Kathy’s start date has not been finalized, she is excited to start her new chapter and looks forward to meeting and working with everyone. Interim TA Butch Burbank will be staying on in an advisory role during Kathy’s transition.

This can be done: in Town Clerk's office during normal hours, or thru the mail postmarked on or before February 2, or fax (603-456-2297). All candidates must be a registered voter to file. This musical theatre adaptation is written by Angela Tarleton with vocal music by Angela Tarleton and Kim Nichols and dance music by Randal Michael Tobin and Curt Steinzor. Winter Parking Ban: The Town of Warner's Parking Ordinance "no vehicle may be left on any street, road, or highway in the Town of Warner between the hours of 12:00 a.m. midnight and 6:00 a.m., from November 1st until May 1st of each year."

Warner Historical Society Barn Sale Pop-Ups are back at the Upton Chandler House Museum (10 W. Main Street)! Saturdays 9-12 to Feb. 10. Typical Barn Sale items will be featured. All proceeds benefit the Warner Historical Society.
Snow Snake Games at Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum, Saturday, February 3, 2024, 10:00 AM 2:00 PM - dependent on snow so stay tuned for last minute details. The museum will be open and we will have some refreshments as well. There will be plenty of snow snakes to borrow to try out. Snow Snake is an ancient game played by Northeast tribes which involves sliding a wooden snake along a trough of snow to see how far it goes! Join in on the winter fun for all ages.
Spaghetti dinner and snow train talk /fundraiser. Saturday, February 24, 5-8 pm at Warner Town Hall. Enjoy a delicious meal served by volunteers and cooked by Caleen Fisher and crew. Program will be presented by Rebecca Courser at 6:30 pm. This is a fundraiser for the Town of Warner 250th Birthday Committee.
NH Telephone Museum: is closed for January and February.
NH Telephone Museum will be needing someone to work on Saturdays this 2024 season (May - December). This is a great, part-time role for a retired person looking to meet people, but all interested are welcome! Saturdays or some Saturdays; 10-4. This is an hourly paid position. If your group is planning an event involving FOOD or beverages at the Warner Town Hall, please consider skipping the expense and waste of single use plates and utensils, by using the dishwasher. Installed just as the Pandemic started, It is a commercial level super-fast cycle washer like the one at the United Church of Warner, so each load takes about 3 minutes! There are plenty of glass tumblers, plates, cups and saucers, and flatware. The plastic dish tubs can be used to collect and carry the flatware, glasses, and dishes and/or to soak or pre-rinse.

Copier/ printer fees: In order to cover the increasing cost of paper, ink, and copier maintenance, the Library Board of Trustees approved an increase in what the library charges per page of printing. As of January 2024, black and white copies are 20 cents/ page, and full color pages $1. (This is our first increase since the 1980s!).

Happy Groundhog Day to everyone next week! As nice as it'd be to think of winter being over, have we really had one yet!!?? Miss Sue is just hoping for more snow, and not so much the bitter cold! Also, there are Groundhog day books now available.

Preschooler Story times with Miss Sue are held every Thursday at 10:30 am - stories, songs, finger-plays, and a craft. This program is held in the library's Children's Room. If bad weather, always call to be sure that we are open.

Reminder about Brush Burning Limitations
Even though there may be snow on the ground and a fire permit from the local fire warden may not be required, only brush with branches less than 5 inches in diameter can be burned. The burning of construction and demolition debris is prohibited, as well as the burning of domestic waste, tires, trash, treated wood and other non-conforming materials. Residents must also check with the local fire department to determine what other restrictions may apply.

NexTREX stretchy plastic recycling progress report: we have now collected 627 pounds of the target (1000# by August) to win a bench for Simonds School. Clean plastic bags and stretchy film, including bubble wrap can be brought to the library or the School. Many thanks to Judy Pellettieri who is handling the weighing and reporting, and Principal Tim Stokes at Simonds (pictured).
