As part of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary, the City is hosting BikeFest on Saturday, May 11 at Mississauga Celebration Square from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


This free community event will be filled with fun and interactive cycling activities for all ages. From skills and drills sessions to bike servicing, family-friendly activities and exploring various active transportation options, there’s something for everyone.

To access free MiWay rides, fun swims, and fitness centres, applicants must be Mississauga residents between the ages of 12 to 16 during registration.


The fitness centre amenities are reserved for those ages 14 to 16 on a first-come, first-served basis after registering with a parent/guardian. Those who turn 14 during the program can add this on, or after, their birthday.


The application period began on April 29 and is on a first-come, first-served basis until the program reaches capacity.


The Sauga Summer Pass will be active between July 1 and September 2, 2024.

Get ready to explore Mississauga in a whole new way this summer! The City of Mississauga is partnering with Lime Technology, Inc. and Bird Canada to launch Mississauga’s first shared system of e-bikes and e-scooters this summer. Up to 300 electric pedal-assist bicycles (e-bikes) and 900 electric kick-style scooters (e-scooters) and will be available for public use across Mississauga. With this new shared system, users will be able to travel throughout Mississauga using another mode of transportation that is fun, convenient and environmentally friendly.

Peel is offering residents free confidential paper shredding at three Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) on the following dates: 

 

·      May 4: Fewster CRC

·      May 11: Heart Lake CRC

·      May 25: Bolton CRC

 

Paper shredding on these dates will be available during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

 

Residents can bring unbound paper documents such as taxes, bills, income statements and personal information.
