Neighbors,

Nearly two weeks have passed since I was sworn in to the DC Council and I remain just as grateful for the opportunity you have given me as I was on day one.

I've never been more optimistic about Ward 3's future. 2023 presents many once-in-a-generation opportunities for our neighborhoods. That's why as we prepare for the FY 24 budget season, I'm looking for ways to create a more welcoming, inclusive Ward 3 for all.

We're already making progress and there's still so much to be done. Let's work hard, together.

Best,

Matt Frumin

Councilmember for Ward 3

Swearing In

I was sworn in to the Council on January 2 surrounded by my family. With my hand placed on a historic family Torah, Judge Russ Canan administered the oath of office.

I'm grateful to each of you who placed your confidence in me. I pledge to use my office to make DC a more just and prosperous place to live, learn, work, raise a family, and age in place.

Thank you, Ward 3.

Hello! My name is Amy Sinnenberg, the Constituent Services Director for Ward 3. I work as an agent for residents interacting with the DC government. Each day, I help our Ward 3 neighbors access government services and solve neighborhood quality of life issues.

From assisting with a missed trash collection to liaising with government agencies and everything in between, I am here to assist you.

Leaf and Greenery Collection

The first round of leaf collection is complete, and the second round started the first week of January.

Holiday greenery collection also started as of January 3rd and will continue through March 3rd. Place Christmas trees and other holiday greenery in tree boxes for removal.

We understand that leaf and greenery collection delays can be frustrating. Please reach out to our Constituent Services Director for assistance if needed.

New TSI Process

DDOT has revised the 311 request process for a Traffic Safety Investigation, now called a Traffic Safety Input. Instead of assessing each request DDOT receives, requests will now be subject to a prioritization data model. Only 200 requests per quarter in critical need locations citywide will be evaluated for improvements.

Councilmember Frumin is reviewing these changes and looks forward to working with DDOT to ensure the updated system leads to safer Ward 3 streets.

Taft Bridge Barriers

On Tuesday, an individual tragically committed suicide on the Taft Bridge. This death is a reminder of the importance of installing suicide barriers on the Taft Bridge.

Team Frumin is working closely with DDOT and other stakeholders to support bridge barriers because we know this evidence-based solution will save lives. Councilmember Frumin will meet again with DDOT on Friday and press them to fulfill their promise to deliver barriers on the Taft Bridge.

Mental health support is available. Call 988 to access the National Suicide Prevention Hotline or click here for more resources.
