I Love My Park Day, held the first Saturday in May, attracts thousands of volunteers from across the state to participate in cleanup, improvement, and beautification events at New York State parks and historic sites. We are excited to be hosting a safe, in-person event at the Jay Estate.

This year we also welcome back renowned forager Tama Matsuoka Wong, author of "Foraged Flavor: Finding Fabulous Ingredients in Your Backyard Farmer's Market," who will lead workshops on identifying and harvesting edible invasive species.

Join our team of dedicated volunteers who are helping to prepare our
Historic Jay Gardens to open in June 2021! Contact us below to volunteer on Thursdays or Sundays and help beautify the estate. Volunteers recently daylighted this historic stream, long hidden by invasive species like Japanese stiltgrass and multiflora rose; it now provides fresh water for wildlife including birds and salamanders.

JHC is proud to partner with the Coalition for Understanding Racism Through Education (CURE) to support "Five Towns: One Book," a virtual visit and discussion with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Isabel Wilkerson, author of the critically acclaimed New York Times best-sellers "Caste" and "The Warmth of Other Suns."
