Before we begin... I have to apologize... to each of you... and especially to my friend Maggie...
Those of you who have grown up with me over the past 9 years know my passion for this industry... and those of you who may be new to the awesomeness of "Jessie Hurley" classes, trust me, I have a PASSION for Papercrafts!
However, in January, my friend Maggie told me that she was going to be hosting a booth at the Creative Stitches show this past weekend, and I told her "why bother". I relayed to her the comments I had heard from ladies in my classes over the past 2 years... " pay for parking, expensive tickets, not enough Scrapbooking Vendors at the show to make it worth it, etc etc...", I said to Maggie, Everybody has given up on that show, it's a waste of time...
On Saturday I took Ella to the show, and truthfully it was more for the sewing side as Ella has gotten into some sewing crafts, but of course we stopped in to the Scrapbooking side to say hello...
And this is what I discovered...
"Everybody" HADN'T given up on this show... I HAD!
Katharina from Creative Scrapbook magazine was there taking subscriptions and hosting demo's!
Capture the Moments was there hosting a Crop!
Country Lane Crafts was there with Southern Ridge Trading, Heartfelt Creations and lots of Demo's!
Scrapbook Central was there with Haroldine doing Demo's!
A Paper Notion was there with Dee from Dee's Dystinctively showing off her new Dies and fabulous class samples!
There was even a classroom set-up with the cutest dragonfly card class!
And after spending an afternoon wrapped in the energy of the show, I left inspired and ... deflated...
HOW could I have let my Passion recede... HOW could I have told another Crafter "Not to bother"... WHAT do I do about it now...
First, an apology... I'm SO incredibly sorry that I let you down!
I should have stood up as I have so many times before and shouted YES, we WILL build this show back up because I KNOW there are Crafters out there who WANT to have a great PaperCraft Show!
And second... a promise... I will NOT lose hope again.
I WILL scatter joy in Classes, Events and ANY idea that supports this wonderful Creative Industry that we all love.
And third... Thank You!!
Thank You to ALL the Retailers, Vendors, Crafters, and all around AWESOME people who did their part to support, attend or spread word about the Creative Stitches show in Abbottsford this past weekend... keep up the great work... I think there may be more wonderful events in our future... after all WE deserve it!

As Ella and I were going through the Tim Horton's Drive-Thru the other day, she said...
Mama, I KNOW I am growing, do you want to know how...?
Obviously I answered "YES!"...
She said "Because I used to be able to see the people's Stomach's and Head's, but now I only see their Stomach's..."
It took me a minute to realize what she was saying...
As a small child in her booster seat, her "view" of the Drive-Thru window was "up"... Head's and Stomach's
Now she is "Bigger", her view is horizontal, all she can see is Stomach's...
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I guess that's ONE way to measure your growth... I wonder if Tim's has thought of using THAT concept in one of their tear-jerker commercials!!
And with that,
Scatter Joy,
Adhere with Abandon,
And the next time you go through the Drive-Thru, have a think about what YOU can see... it's worth the giggle :)
