Bring your family and friends, and join Dr. Lauren Nicholls of Scranton for an evening autumn wellness walk at Fieldstone Farm Nature Preserve.

This doctor-led walking event is a fun and safe place to go for a walk, learn about health, and meet new friends. Free to attend. Dogs welcome!

The Gallery at Brodhead Creek Heritage Center will be featuring paintings by Don Baylor during the month of October.

Stop by on Sunday, October 3 for the opening reception, which will also feature a display of pottery by Jody Fry. Light refreshments will be served.

"Living with Black Bears"

Are you afraid of black bears?

Do you consider them a nuisance?

Do you admire their spirit & strength?

However you view them, black bears are a part of Pennsylvania life.

Join Ryan Gildea of the PA Game Commission for an in-person presentation to learn more about black bears in the Poconos, including their biology, mating habits, tips for protecting your bird feeders and trash cans, and how to live in harmony with these furry friends.

Acrylic Pour and Sip

5:30PM - 9:00 PM

Brodhead Creek Heritage Center

You will learn 2 different techniques for pouring fluid acrylic paint to create 3 beautiful, unique works of art. Local artist Elaine Madere will guide you through the preparation of paints and the pouring onto canvas. Absolutely no prior art experience is required.

Cost is $40 with a portion of the registration fees benefiting Pocono Heritage Land Trust. The price also includes all art materials, artist instruction, a glass of wine and light refreshments.

Pomeroy Nature Preserve

Location: Near Stroudsburg

Help remove Japanese barberry and other invasive shrubs from the restoration area.

Saturday October 16th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Glen Run Nature Preserve

Location: Just south of Stroudsburg

We will continue our work of removing burning bush (aka winged wahoo) in the floodplain of this preserve, focusing on large diameter individuals using a chainsaw. Ear protection is recommended.

Thursday November 4th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Jonas Mountain Nature Preserve

Location: Near Effort

We’ll be removing autumn olive and other invasive shrubs from this preserve.

Saturday November 13th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Fieldstone Farm Nature Preserve

Location: Mt Pocono

We’ll continue our effort to push back against woody invasive species at this photogenic preserve.
