A note from the School Director

Dear Wake Prep Families,

I am happy to announce the addition of K-6 Director, Ms. Crystal Cleveland, to our team! Ms. Cleveland has been with Charter One since 2018 and comes to us from our sister school, American Leadership Academy, in Arizona, where she served as a teacher, mentor, and professional development leader. We are thrilled to have her on the Wake Prep team and I can't wait for you all to meet her!

Our Junior High/High School Fine Arts team is gearing up for the new school year and have put together some cool summer workshops to preview the fun that's to come for our 7th-12th graders once school begins. More details below!

August 22nd is quickly approaching and we know you are eager to learn about what the first days of school will look like and how you can prepare. We will be communicating important information regarding all campus logistics from pick-up/drop-off procedures and bus assignments, to lunch accounts and class placements/schedules, and more, as soon as possible. Please continue to check your email for updates.

Please remember, your most reliable and accurate source for all Wake Prep-related news and information is through Wake Prep. Please feel free to call or email us directly if you have any questions or need clarification on policies, procedures, or expectations.

Uniforms

We will continue to schedule opportunities to purchase WPA shirts, including during our Meet the Teacher Night events the week before school begins. Additional uniform and dress code information can be found below in the "For newly enrolled families" section.

Busing

We continue to work on finalizing bus routes and will be sharing students' transportation status (student has been assigned a seat, student has been placed on the waitlist, or a route is not available in student's area) within the next 3-4 weeks.

Bus routes will run in the Youngsville and Franklinton areas as well as areas approximately 6-10 miles south of the school.

Please keep in mind that busing is limited and we will be using cluster stops. We strongly encourage you to have a backup plan for transporting your child(ren) to and from school in the event a seat on the bus or a route in your area is unavailable.

If you have recently enrolled and did not indicate your interest in transportation on your child's enrollment application, please complete this Transportation Request form.

K-6 Class Placements

Between August 12-16, your child's teacher will be calling you to introduce themselves and invite you to Meet the Teacher Night (date/time TBA). Please note that requests for specific teachers, or to be placed in classes with specific students/friends cannot be accommodated.

Sincerely,

Cristina Schubert, M.Ed.

Meet K-6 Director, Ms. Cleveland!

I am a proud New Jersey native who loves everything the east coast has to offer. I received my degree from Southern Virginia University and ventured out west to see the adventures it had to offer. I joined the Charter One family in Arizona and have had the privilege of serving its families for the past five years. During that time I’ve had the chance to R.A.I.S.E leaders from kindergarten to fourth grade. I have enjoyed working with students, watching them challenge themselves in the classroom, and find joy in their learning. I am thrilled to be a part of building Wake Prep Academy in North Carolina and I look forward to meeting you in August!
