I have recently had the opportunity to pick some "what you see is what you get" (wysiwyg) corals from one of our overseas suppliers instead of just ordering from their standard list and hoping a few rarities might be included. While I am paying a little more for these corals, we are getting the best of the best of the corals being collected from the Indo-Pacific region. Most of these are selected for wysiwyg either because they are brighter, more fluorescent, have rare or unique color morphs and of course in order for the distributor to get a few more dollars for each of the nicer pieces. Freight, however is the same and as I have shared with many of you, much of the cost of the livestock we get in comes from the freight. That being the case, we can still offer you these nice pieces at great prices. Being the night owl that I am, I was able to get first shot at these corals last week when the email arrived after 1 am and I immediately selected 24 pieces of these premium corals for us from photos of their best 400 pieces These corals are scheduled to arrive here early this afternoon and will include colorful and unique combo rocks, zoanthids, clove polyps, brain, elegance, tubanaria, mycedium, cynarina, pectinia, trumpet, chalice and acro corals.
We still have 3 of the XL Red Sea Purple tangs, 3 of the Red Sea Mimic blennies (actually 2, I'm going to keep 1 for my reef) and 4 of the larvatus and semi-larvatus butterflyfish. We also have 1 additional very nice medium sized purple tang which was in the 180 gallon customer tank we purchased recently. This fish has been acclimated to aquarium life for quite a while and should acclimate easily to any aquarium with good water parameters. The 180 gallon aquarium and stand we mentioned in our last email has already been sold, but we have a super selection of new aquariums and stands from 10 gallons to 125 gallon reef ready in stock and at great prices.
If you haven't already done so, take the opportunity when you have a chance (preferably on work time ... lol) and google these 3 fish. They are truly beautiful and unique specimens which are not always easy to come by: Red Sea Mimic Blenny, Red Sea Golden butterflyfish, Red Sea Orange face butterflyfish. Read about them to see if they would make good tank mates for your other fish and then click on a couple of the online sites and check out their pricing on these fish. Only then will you be able to appreciate the quality, uniqueness and OUR PRICING on these super specimens. They are all eating and have acclimated well into our systems and are now ready to become THE FISH EVERYONE NOTICES in your aquarium. We are keeping them on sale in the specials section below for an additional week.
While it may not seem like the ideal season to discuss aquarium heaters, we realize that many of us love our air conditioning during the summer months and try to keep our homes around 70 - 72 degrees, especially at night and sudden ttemperature drops of 2 degrees or more can be quite stressful or even fatal for many of our little reef critters. Having a quality, dependable, UNBREAKABLE heater in place and working properly is always a good idea. The next time you are in the store and have a few minutes to hang out, check out the relatively new Cobalt Aquatic Neo Therm submersible heaters. We now have them available in 100 and 200 watt sizes and can get them in 25, 50 and 75 watts as well. I've been using these in my personal reef since they were introduced about a year ago. Based on my use and positive customer feedback from others who are using them, I am now ready to give them my recommendation. They are thin and compact, accurate to within 1/2 degree, fully electronic and digital and I really like the fact that they show both the current aquarium temperature as well as the set temperature at all times. The three year warranty is nice as well.
Thanks for your business. We appreciate it. Hope to see you soon!
