Women's History Month

Greetings Watershed Stewards,

March is Women’s History month. Women have made tremendous strides in the field of conservation. Historical activists like Rachel Carson, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and Sylvia Earle have helped to expand environmental protections and increase public awareness. Today, women are continuing to make an impact on the environment. More recently, women’s conservation activists like Joy Mulinex and Alicia Smith and have made strides in protecting Ohio’s natural resources. This month, WVP would like to celebrate and feature some of the wonderful accomplishments of women conservationists.

World Water Day

Please join us for a World Water Day Celebration at the Watershed Stewardship Center on March 25th. Interested in volunteering? Come volunteer with WVP at a Macroinvertebrate Identification table. Volunteers will work in 2-hour shifts in the WSC lab to help attendees identify and learn about the importance of macroinvertebrates using a dichotomist key. Please fill out the survey here, to sign up for a shift.

Curious about the event and want to enjoy the festivities? No problem. Feel free to stop by the event to learn and explore. See the Opportunities with Partners section below for more details about other World Water Day events.  There are plenty of ways to engage with stewardship activities this March. Join us at an upcoming WVP event, share the #NEOwatershedsteward hashtag on social media, or send us a message at wvpinfo@clevelandmetroparks.com to let us know how you plan to celebrate water this March.
