The Wonderful World of Wetlands

Greetings Watershed Stewards,

We hope many of you found a special way to celebrate World Wetlands Day on February 2nd! Perhaps you visited your favorite wetland in the parks, or maybe you decided to join Frog Watch? As we wade through six more weeks of winter, it is a fun time to imagine spring and the emergence of life from our wetlands. We look forward to the early bloomer skunk cabbage and the calls of the wood frogs in March!

You can learn more about the importance of wetlands, their degradation, and what we can do to help at the United Nations World Wetlands Day website here.

Thanks to those of you that recently joined us to process seeds and to monitor salt in our watersheds! We are thrilled with your passion and interest in supporting our local waterways. Be sure to join us in our upcoming learning, monitoring and restoration events. See event details below and sign up in volgistics!

Gratefully,

The WVP Team
