September 2024 Newsletter

In the News

Last week, we paused to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 by honoring the lives lost on that tragic day and those who have suffered from related medical complications ever since. We are forever grateful to the First Responders, Search and Rescue teams, and all who united in solidarity to support one another during that time of need. So many answered the call to serve after 9/11, including the more than two million servicemembers deployed to the Middle East. We express our deepest gratitude for your service to our country.

September is also National Suicide Prevention Month. Many of ustoo many of ushave been touched by suicide and mental health needs. With all the women veterans I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know, self-care is often last on the list of priorities. If you need help or you have a loved one that needs help, please be aware of some resources. You can also reach out to the WVN or our SAVE Team at (617) 210-5743 if you are in need of additional support and connections to resources.

You can also visit our website for more information. Thank you!

About the Women Veterans Network

The WVN seeks to serve as a primary resource for Massachusetts' military veterans, with a mission of increasing awareness of the federal, state and local benefits available to them. As part of its outreach mission, the WVM hosts a variety of events every year, including webinars, gatherings, the Women Veterans Appreciation Day, and an annual conference.
