Secretary Warner begins public education effort on new federal reporting requirements for WV businesses | WV Secretary of State Mac Warner is launching a public education campaign to assist West Virginia businesses with navigating a new federal requirement that took effect on January 1, 2024. The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) is a federal (not state) law that requires most businesses to file specific “Beneficial Ownership Information” (BOI) through an online portal operated by the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). The information will not be publicly available but will be shared with law enforcement when or if requested. | | | |

Rural Business Development Grants (RBDG) | |
RBDG is a competitive grant designed to support targeted technical assistance, training, and other activities leading to the development or expansion of small and emerging private businesses in rural areas that have fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross revenues. Programmatic activities are separated into enterprise or opportunity type grant activities. | |
