The SF-Marin Food Bank opened Pop-Up Pantries throughout San Francisco and Marin in response to the pandemic. Though many of the health concerns have subsided, Pop-Up Pantries are critical connection points for our community to receive needed groceries.
We will be outside distributing groceries directly to participants. Some light lifting is involved.
You must be completely comfortable serving.
Please consider your own health before volunteering.

Our fun and relaxed WRS walking group will be in San Rafael this month. We walk for about an hour on flat paths throughout Marin. WRS monthly walks are a great way to connect with other women and nature.

Felecia Gaston and Marin City History Exhibits | |

WRS hosted Felecia Gaston speaking about her work with the black community in Marin City and her book of Marin City history. There are two exhibits now open to the public with more information.
Marin County Office of Education

An exhibit entitled “The Legacy of Marin City: A California Black History Story (1942 – 1960)" may be viewed by the public. Call 415-472-4110 for information about a tour with Felecia or to find out the hours the public may visit. The exhibit will end on May 31, 2024 , and segments of it will be displayed in Marin County Library locations.
Mill Valley Public Library
An exhibit entitled “Breaking Through: Black History at Tam High, 1910 to the Present”, also curated by Felecia Gaston.

WRS Volunteers at the SF-Marin Food Bank
Since 1987, the SF-Marin Food Bank has helped address food insecurity affecting one in five people in our community. We packed 300 pounds of rice in 20 boxes which will feed 1200 people.

A Gathering for the new Sunday Brunch
WRS members and guests met for Sunday brunch at the Garden Cafe in San Rafael and online. Sweet and savory foods and good conversation were enjoyed by all.
