The Weather Risk Management Association (WRMA) is holding its
second student conference, set for June, 6-8, 2018 in Miami, Florida.
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Economics of Weather/Climate Conference by submitting a brief abstract on a topic related to the intersection of atmospheric science and the economic continuum.
You're Invited to Participate
Students whose abstracts are accepted will receive complimentary registration to WRMA's meeting, June 6-8, which will include a line-up of industry speaker sessions and networking opportunities. Moreover, the top four applicants (undergraduate or graduate students) will receive student travel stipend scholarships, to cover the cost of airfare within the continental US and hotel accommodations during the dates of the meeting.
This meeting will provide students a forum to interact and network with leaders in the weather risk management field, potentially creating new career opportunities. Participation will be in the form of a poster session during the June 6 Welcome Reception. In addition, the four scholarship recipients will present their research during a special conference session on June 7.
How to Participate
To participate in this program, students must attend a WRMA member university. Universities that are currently participatory members of WRMA include Millersville University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Rutgers University, the University of Oklahoma, and ESSCA Ecole de Management.
