2022 National Council will meet in October -Only Chapters in good standing will be allowed delegate voting!
We will be holding our Brotherhood National Council meeting in late October to pass the proposed 2023 budget, elect a Treasurer, and vote on any proposed Constitution or Bylaws changes that have met notification requirements.
Only Chapters IN GOOD STANDING will be allowed voting delegates. Don't miss the opportunity for your chapter to have a voice and vote! "In Good Standing" indicates an Annual Chapter Report has been submitted and the chapter members are current in their dues for 2022.

Chapter Leadership Survey of Mission, Ministry, Methods, and Evangelism
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a National Men's Ministry that shares common bonds with all brothers in the organization. As a ministry that focuses on several fronts including prayer, study, and service, we want to grow, and grow in members and ministries. To better understand how to go about our evangelism efforts we need your input at the chapter leadership level.
All chapter officers that we have listed in our current database will receive instructions on taking the survey. The survey will remain available for the next ten days. We urge all officers of the chapter to participate. “A Season of Prayer for Revival”—from June 12 through July 11—will feature daily prayers drawn from the Book of Common Prayer. Individuals can sign up online to receive the prayers and inspirational messages via email. The prayers will also be posted daily on social media accounts for The Episcopal Church and Forward Movement.
“As we move toward and adapt to a shorter, smaller General Convention, I invite every Episcopalian—whether you’re in Baltimore or Alaska or Honduras, whether you’re a deputy, a bishop, or a new member sitting in the pews—I invite all of us to pause each day just for a moment to pray for the expansive, reviving power of the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts and minds,” Curry said. “We are people of common prayer; may we embrace this season as an opportunity for us all to become a church that truly lives, looks, and loves like Jesus.”

St. Andrew's ACNA Brothers assist with Afghan family relocation
The thought of moving from city to city or from state to state brings with it uncertainty for many Americans, but imagine having to move to an entirely different country in order to escape war or persecution. This scenario is playing out across the globe for millions of refugees.
In places like Delaware County, communities and organizations are rallying together to help refugees resettle into their new homes in central Ohio. St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lewis Center is one such organization coming to the aid of refugees looking for a safe place to call home.
With assistance from Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS), a Columbus-based organization that has worked with refugees since 1987, the church’s six-member welcome team was connected with a refugee family from Afghanistan.
On April 1, the family – consisting of a husband and wife in their mid-20s and four (soon to be five) children under the age of 10 – was moved into its new home in central Ohio with help from the church.
“The church’s response has been a remarkable example of how faith instills love and love inspires action,” said welcome team member Jim Menke. “As someone once said, if you pass by a gas station, you expect to see people buying gas. If you pass a church, you should expect to see people helping others.”
According to Patrick Schmitz, service team coordinator at St. Andrew’s, the church has roughly 150 members and 40% percent of them have supported the refugee mission through donations, labor or both.
“As St. Andrew’s awaited the Afghan family’s arrival, the church’s welcome team and other volunteers continued preparations,” Schmitz said. “The team raised more than $18,000 and collected enough food and furnishings that it was able to provide support to both the six-member refugee family and a second Afghan family that arrived in central Ohio without a sponsor. In recent weeks, the welcome team has further expanded its outreach to help resettle a single mother from Rwanda and her 6-year-old son.”
As for the Afghan family the church welcomed to central Ohio in early April, in addition to material assistance, Schmitz added the St. Andrew’s welcome team has provided the family with meals and fellowship, driven the pregnant mother to doctor appointments in south Columbus, and texted the head of household support and encouragement using Google Translate to bridge the language barrier between English and Pashto, the official language of Afghanistan.
Having called central Ohio home for nearly two months now, Schmitz said the family is adapting well to life in America.
“The young couple and their children are remarkably resilient, and they have connected with the Afghan community in central Ohio,” he said. “Our welcome team is another piece of the puzzle by serving as their friends and advocates.”
With a new lease on life, Schmitz said the family is thankful for all the support it has received.
“The head of household does not speak English, but he uses Google Translate to text us a regular stream of messages of thanks and gratitude,” Schmitz said. “And of course, smiles, handshakes and hugs have no language barriers.”
Moving forward, the welcome team plans to continue to assist the Afghan family for at least six months, during which time the team plans to help the head of household learn English, secure employment and learn to drive,” Schmitz said, adding the team also plans to introduce the family to American culture through visits to the Columbus Zoo and local parks and recreation centers.
“One of the most gratifying responses from the Afghan family has been from their 4-year-old daughter, ‘E,’” Schmitz said. “She eagerly embraces every chance to practice letters and numbers, and the determination in her eyes speaks volumes.”
Throughout the process of becoming involved in resettling refugees, members of St. Andrew’s have seen firsthand the impact churches can have on the community.
“Almost 200 years ago, Alexis de Tocqueville observed churches are part of the glue that holds together America as a democracy,” Schmitz said. “Since America is more pluralistic than it was 20 or 30 years ago, some people today question the role of churches in society. In answering this question, we suggest action is more impactful than words. The Christian ethic of service also is a powerful antidote to our polarized political culture. The church is very much part of our community, but its countercultural wisdom counsels people to look up to God, not left or right.”
Carlo Cherubini, a member of the church’s welcome team and a Brotherhood Executive Board member, added St. Andrew’s Afghan refugee mission is centered around three objectives.
“First, we model Christ’s unconditional love through service,” he said. “The refugee family who we are working with has been amazed by the caring that a church has shown for them. … Second, our team has inspired our church’s membership to get more involved in helping others as we emerge from the pandemic.
“Finally, we want to show our neighbors why churches have played a critical role for over 2,000 years and will continue to do so.”
When asked if the church might be involved in the future with assisting Ukrainians fleeing the ongoing war in their country, Schmitz said the welcome team’s focus for the time being remains on the Afghan and Rwandan families they are currently working with.
“We discussed helping Ukrainian refugees, but we don’t expect them to arrive before the end of this year, if not later,” he said.

The rector at Christ Church in Pensacola, FL Father Michael Hoffman recently told his congregation that a friend suggested to him that the author of the 23rd Psalm was writing an inventory of his relationship with God. Based on that premise Father Michael asked his congregants to rewrite the 23rd Psalm in their own words. Here's what Brother Lee Wright, our VP of Recovery Ministry wrote:
My Psalm 23
(My inventory of my relationship with God)
The Lord is my guide on life’s trail. He has planned the trip – the route, what clothing to bring, what equipment to bring, what food to bring, everything!
He has chosen beautiful places to stop along the trail. This is really a restful trip with Him in charge.
It is great to be with someone who is the best at everything he does. Even when the trail gets difficult and I am not sure I can continue, He is there to encourage me even protect me if necessary. In fact, to help me be more secure He gave me a walking stick.
One night along the trail He prepared a special meal for me. As we sat down to eat a group of men that seemed intent on doing us harm came into our campsite. He invited them to join us for dinner. I was shocked when they agreed. After a delicious meal they thanked us and went their way. The demonstration of love overcoming evil was not lost on me.
After that night I knew the trail, I was on was eternal and wherever my Guide led me I would follow. I wanted to be with Him.

St. Mary's Chapter, High Point, NC
teams up with ECW for Spring Gala
For national service day project our chapter decided to team up with the ECW group to help put on their Spring Gala. This has been an annual event where all the proceeds go to the non-profits in the area that focus mostly on women.
Since it has been over 2 years since the last event, the ECW president asked the "brothers" for assistance.
Our duties included the following:
1-Help with set up our Community Life Center;
2-Assist with bringing in the items up for auction by vendor;
3-Provide service to the dinner patrons from providing beverages, food, and clean up;
4-Provide kitchen help with washing dishes, trash collection, leftovers; etc;
5-After the event provide labor to take down the room, tables and chairs to reset for the next church service the following day;
6-Assisted participants carry out their items won to their vehicles;
7-Finish clean up of the entire hall after this important event.
This was one of the most successful Spring Gala events by the ECW in history as they collected over $27,000 to support all of their outreach projects and "Women in Motion" campaign.
This turned out to be one of the most rewarding service projects we have ever taken on here by our brothers for such a worthy cause Attached are a few pictures of this event.

MAL Breakfast call reaches "across the big pond"!
This is a screenshot of a recent Member At Large meeting when Br. Lyn Reavis, MAL Director, and Conrad Jones had the pleasure of meeting Brother Bill Zarrett formerly of Atlanta, GA and now living in Tiverton, Devon, England. Lyn's mass mailing reached Bill and they began communicating. Br. Zarrett joined the recurring Saturday morning MAL Breakfast ZOOM. It felt like we'd found a lost sheep.

"Taizé is a monastic community located in Taizé, France, founded in the 1940s by a Swiss named Roger Louis Schütz-Marsauche, familiarly called Brother Roger. The “brothers” of Taizé have taken a vow of celibacy and are committed to a lifetime of simplicity, service, and community. There is an ecumenical emphasis at Taizé, as expressed on their official website, which says the community “wants its life to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples.” Brother Roger was especially eager to bring Catholics and Protestants together.
The contemplative worship practices of the Taizé community are promoted at an annual international conference. Taizé worship is being incorporated in a wide variety of churches, Protestant and Catholic, and its pattern of devotion is emulated in other monastic communities around the world."
