Adjudications and Galas 2022 to 2025
By Mona Brennan-Coles, WODL Past President on behalf of the WODL 2023 & 2024 Galas Committee, mona@wodl.on.ca
After much discussion at the fall 2022 Board meetings and the October 2022 delegates meeting, WODL has decided the following:
For the 2022-2023 Season:
-
To rename the Travelling Adjudications 2022-2023 to the WODL Travelling Festival 2022-2023 because this is a better description of what is happening this year, and would happen any year, that WODL doesn’t host an in-person, multiple-play Festival ending on the long weekend in May.
-
To rename the WODL Reunion Gala 2023 to the WODL Festival and Reunion Gala 2023 to reflect that we are celebrating the Travelling Festival and enjoying our first in-person event since March 2019. Yes, it will be more than 4 years when we gather next spring to celebrate theatre in the WODL region. WODL will host the WODL Festival and Reunion Gala 2023 in the St. Jacobs area.
- Tp move the WODL AGM 2023 from Sunday August 13, 2023 to Sunday May 21, 2023 at 11:00 am.
For the 2023-2024 Season:
-
To host the WODL Travelling Festival 2023-2024 leading to the WODL Festival Gala 2024 in the St. Jacobs area. We are currently negotiating with an area hotel to host both the 2023 and 2024 Galas.
For the 2024-2025 Season:
- To host travelling adjudications in 2024-2025 leading to an in-person, multiple-play Festival ending on Sunday May 18, 2025 with the WODL AGM 2025. The Bank Theatre in looking forward to welcoming us to Leamington in May 2025.
