"Waiver" Program Part of WY Medicaid Renewals

Wyoming Medicaid offers three waiver programs with rules and practices that differ from traditional Medicaid:

  • Community Choices Waiverserves individuals aged 65 and older, or individuals aged 19 – 64 who have a verified, qualifying disability.
  • Supports Waiver – provides supportive services to eligible individuals of all ages who have an intellectual or developmental disability, or an acquired brain injury.
  • Comprehensive Waiver – provides comprehensive services to eligible individuals of all ages who have an intellectual or developmental disability, or an acquired brain injury. Individuals must meet emergency and eligibility criteria, to receive services.

WY Medicaid enrollees can update their information or renew online at www.wesystem.wyo.gov or by calling 1-855-294-2127.

UnitedHealthcare

Now Offering Telehealth w/ No Out-Of-Pocket Cost

UnitedHealthcare is now offering telehealth appointments with no co-pay or out-of-pocket cost as a benefit.

The move is intended to improve access to care, said Dr. Donna O'Shea, chief medical officer of population health for UnitedHealthcare. Sometimes members in high-deductible plans delay medical appointments to avoid out-of-pocket costs.

UnitedHealthcare estimates, based on its claims data, that 25% of emergency room visits could be handled virtually. The telehealth visits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
