BAFTA and BFI Screenwriters' Lecture Series

Screenwriting legend Charlie Kaufman The series made a real impact last year and continues to celebrate the screenwriter's contribution to a film's creative vision in its second year. Offering internationally renowned screenwriters a vital platform to explore their creative processes and share their insights with an audience of film-lovers and their peers.

Seven extraordinary evenings with internationally celebrated screenwriters will take place at BAFTA and BFI Southbank between 13 & 30 of September: William 'Gladiator' Nicholson kicks off the season; followed by Moira Buffini, responsible for hit Brit flick Tamara Drewe; then the prolific John Logan, writer of The Aviator, Rango, Sweeney Todd; the internationally acclaimed Guillermo Arriaga writer of Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel; Frank Cottrell Boyce of 24 Hour Party People fame; Ken Loach's long time collaborator Paul Laverty, The Wind That Shakes the Barley and Sweet Sixteen and closing with screenwriting legend Charlie Kaufman, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
