Starting March 12: Independent Living Training Program

Join us for three interactive, in-person training sessions led by BenefitsAdvisor Teresa Hoffmeister. These sessions will equip you with vital skills for living and leading an independent life in your community. Materials will be provided, and there's a raffle opportunity available for participants!

March Family Empowerment Advocacy Series

Coming this March, WILC's Parent Training and Information Center will be holding its Family Empowerment Advocacy Series - I Wish I Had Known This Sooner: Understanding Your Child's Rights & Responsibilities Under Special Education Law.  


This in-depth, FREE, 6-session virtual series is open to parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Presenters will include advocates, special education attorneys, educational specialists, and more.  


Sessions will be offered in the morning (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) or evening (6-9 p.m.) for convenience via Zoom. 



Dates: Tuesdays, March 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th and April 9th and 16th.

April 23rd: Zoom Webinar on Understanding Learning Disabilities

Does your child struggle with reading & writing? We invite you to join us for a Zoom Webinar with Fiona Rattray from WILC/PILS. The webinar will delve into understanding reading and writing difficulties, particularly in relation to learning disabilities like Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. Topics of discussion include identifying red flags, evidence-gathering, effective evidence-based strategies for intervention, and knowing when to seek a comprehensive educational evaluation. Don't miss the opportunity to gain valuable insights and have your questions answered during the Q&A session at the end!
