Bits and Pieces

August 27, 2024

We’re heading down the backstretch now, heading into WestWorld in Scottsdale for the 3-day Rusty Barn Sewing and Craft Show!!! This special show happens twice a year in the Phoenix area: once the last weekend of January, and once near the Labor Day weekend. There are different vendors at the shows, but many of us attend both of them. For this show, we are all under one roof, in our individual booths, and I like this the best since you won’t miss anything! We are at the show, proudly representing Q’nique and Grace frames and longarm machines. These machines are always reasonably priced for the hobbyist as well as for the fulltime quilter. Our machines include the Little Rebel, which is both a longarm machine on a frame as well as serving as a domestic straight stitch machine on a table. It gives you great functionality and flexibility in your sewing room, so if you’re not familiar with it, please see us at the show and try it out. It has a 13” wide opening with 8.5” opening top to bottom for larger quilts, a built- in stitch regulator, a larger bobbin, and so much more. It can sit on a Cutie Breeze table-top frame which is capable of handling a king sized quilt, but can move to other sizes of frames if you want. It is one of the most versatile machines out there, and will be featured at a very special show price. Like in the $3,000 range for machine and frame, as opposed to the $8,000 range or more!

Our largest setup is the 21X Elite Q’nique machine, which can be bundled with an Evolution Elite frame for less than $10,000!!!. You can mix and match machine with frame to fit your budget, needs, room size, and whatever else concerns you. These machines are software capable, as well as quilting with laser or free motion. Choose what works best for you!! Additionally, we will have with us a representative from Grace Co. in Utah for any extra help or questions. Jarek from Grace Co. has been with us for a large number of these shows that we do, and we always appreciate his help. What I can tell you for sure is that we are featuring at this show some of our BEST PRICES for Q’nique, so if it’s in your wheelhouse at all, don’t miss this weekend.

If you can’t see us there, come in to the shop to place your order, since the prices will be good at both shop and show. Only thing is…there won’t be any machines for you to look at since they will all be with us at the show!  What I’m obtusely trying to say here is that the shop is going to look a bit bare in spots this week, but we can still help you with questions and purchases.  But Wait---we will also be selling to you directly off our show floor at WestWorld! We want this to be an easy process for you, and exciting as well. Be sure to bring your room measurements with you, so you know which frame/machine size will be perfect for you, and you can take it home with you from the show if you wish. Be sewing on your new longarm Saturday night!!!!!

We will be taking some of our kits with us to the show this year, like the Door Banner Box kits from Riley Blake, a few Halloween table runner kits, Christmas kits, both larger and smaller, and a few other things for you to grab and go. All will be 25% off, both at the show and at the shop! We will be there with demos of the True Cut rulers, cutters, sharpeners (yes, they DO really work!), circle cutters and such, and all at show pricing also. Please stop by and say Hi to all of us, and to me behind the demo table. For some of us, this is our annual time to see each other since you’ve moved from the West Valley.

Labor Day is Monday following the show, and we will be closed both Sunday and Monday (9-1 and -2) to get the shop and our bodies and voices back in shape. I feel like being at the demo table with the True Cut products and the kits is just my prelude to the upcoming Shop Hop beginning Oct. 11-19. Exhausting for sure, but so much fun. I’m just a people-person who likes to talk and loves my shop and especially the sewists who stop to chat and maybe buy something. Which reminds me of something a friend told me last week that I want to share with you. The show has a lot of stuff for you to purchase, so choose wisely and think about these words my friend’s Mother always told her:  “ Remember that we are not rich enough to buy crap”!!!!!  I have thought about that a lot, and it makes so much sense when you think about it. It’s such an interesting twist on something we already know, but I love her Mom’s wording!!! And it makes me laugh!?!?

Our special for the week…well, I’ve already told you about it. It will be KITS25. No need for a code this time at the shop or show, but still needed for an online order. Purchase your favorite kits in stock at 25% off MSRP! We’ve really got some good ones, so check them out. I will have a smaller number with us at the show, remember! Hope to see you at WestWorld or at the shop. Remember also that we are also a full BERNINA dealer, as well as Arrow, Unique Sewing Furniture, Martelli and more, only we are unable to have these things at the Rusty Barn Show (they’re all back at the shop!).
