FAITH IN ACTION
___________________
As we studied faith last night in our Spirit of Life Ministries Ministry School, true biblical faith requires that we act upon that which we believe. Matthew 13:22-36 gives us two great examples of faith in action.
The part of this passage on which we typically focus is when Peter left the boat and walked to Jesus on the stormy water. When Jesus said “come” to him, he did not hesitate. He left the boat and jumped into the water. He had faith that Jesus meant it when he said “come”, so he acted in faith. Even with the momentary lapse of faith, he recovered and walked again on water back to the boat.
However, there is another remarkable case of faith in action in this passage that gets overlooked so much that I have never heard a preacher speak of it. Remember, when the woman with an issue of blood pressed through a crowd in faith to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment? If she had not taken such bold action, she would never have been healed. The story is so well known that we tend to think this was the only time anyone was healed by the touch of Jesus’ garment. That would be a misperception.
When Peter, Jesus, and the others came to land after the storm, people from all over the Gennesaret area met him. They brought all the diseased people to Jesus to be healed. Faith was present, but it had to be put into action. They asked Jesus if they could touch the hem of his garment. He allowed them to do that. Then everyone that touched the hem of his garment was healed.
Yes, it was an unusual act of faith, but without that action no one would have been healed. By faith, they had believed healing was theirs, but they had to put it into action and “do something.”
First, they had to “say it,” then they had to “do it” (act upon it). If you truly have faith for something, you will speak it (say it) as though you already have it because in the spirit realm it is already done. Then you must act as though you have it (do it), and only then will you receive it. Then one must testify of what has happened by telling others what God has done.
The four steps to faith are:
1. Say it (speak it)
2. Do it (act upon what you say)
3. Receive it (act as if you already have it)
4. Tell it (testify as to what you have received)
If you would like the full lesson on these four steps, then click here for May 14’s Bible School lesson. It will change your prayer life. It will bring results. You too can then “touch the hem of Jesus’ garment” also.

A BROKEN SPIRIT
__________________
In Proverbs 17:22 it says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” The word dry means literally to dry up. This proverb indicates that a possible cause of arthritis (a disorder of the joints or dryness in the joints) can come from a broken spirit. A broken spirit literally takes the breath out of a person. You might say it is a “sucker punch.” If it isn’t dealt with, it can bring a root of bitterness and can cause a broken spirit.
Several years ago, a distant family member had rheumatoid arthritis. Her hands were greatly affected. Her fingers were twisted, and she could barely use them. One day she visited my home, and we had a long conversation. She shared that when she was younger that she had two children out of wedlock and could not take care of them the way her parents thought that she could. She had been involved with drugs and alcohol, and things were out of control in her life. Her parents stepped in and legally took these children away from her. She did not get to see them much when they were young, and only when they were somewhat older given the opportunity to be around them.
She had become very bitter towards her parents, and never forgave them for taking the children away. She said she could never forgive them for doing this. I could understand her pain, but also told her that not forgiving her parents could lead to a broken spirit.
As I ministered the love of God to her, the Lord impressed upon me to tell her that he would heal her of the arthritis is she would forgive her parents. I shared this with her, and she said it would be hard. I encouraged her, and finally she said that she would forgive them. We prayed a prayer of release of the bitterness and she forgave her parents. We also prayed that she could forgive herself. Then, we prayed for the arthritis and instantly she was healed. Her hands became absolutely normal. She could bend her fingers and hands like they had never been in the former condition. We hugged and wept and thanked the Lord for what He had done.
A few weeks later I saw her again, and her fingers and hands were back in their previous arthritic condition. I was amazed. I asked her what had happened, and she said, “I just can’t forgive them.” Sad to say, she never received the healing God wanted her to have because of unforgiveness. It is like a poison to not forgive and become bitter my friends. It destroyed her, and she died very young.
Do you have a broken spirit caused by unforgiveness? Perhaps you should ask God to forgive you, and then forgive those that have hurt you. Don’t be bound in the spiritual dryness in your life that comes from not forgiving others. Release it to God and let Him bring healing to your life. Let a merry heart rise up in you and it will be the medicine that God wants you to have.

PROPHETIC WORD
Early this morning the Lord spoke one word to me, and it was “explosion.” It came while I was studying the word. I do not listen to the news, or am influenced by many things, but I know it was the Lord speaking.
Later, I heard the word death and destruction. I saw multiple places in our country with smoke spiraling over them. I knew it was the “explosion” that God said earlier, but now it was in more than one place.
We, along with others in the prophetic voice, have been feeling intense darkness and heaviness, which is an indicator of things coming that are from the “dark side.” As I researched the word the Lord gave me, I found that other prophetic voices have heard the word explosion also. I do not take this lightly. I believe that it is a sound and pure word from the Lord.
Many prophets (true prophets) have seen war on the horizon, including myself. There are so many illegals crossing our borders right now from countries that hate America, so it is not a surprise that war is coming. Those that hate us are already in our country. This is not the time for fear. This is the time for the remnant to rise up and be light in the darkness that is coming. If there is death and destruction coming to our land, then we need to witness more than ever the love of God to those bound in sin and darkness.
As always, take this word to the Lord and pray about it. Make sure you are prepared for very hard days ahead and stay close to the Lord. Spend time in the word of God and be ready for whatever is on the horizon.

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY
PROPHETIC EXHORTATION
5-14-2024
Have you ever thought that the script of life could now be flipping in your favor? Well it’s on course to do exactly that; And it’ll cause your journey on The Sea of Life to change for your good…And of course for God’s glory. Yes, that tumultuous Red Sea which has held you back and kept you down…Is now parting in your favor and it’s taking you up to higher ground. Oh, I’m sure you’ve felt trapped for a season; And yes, that too has been without any real reason. Perhaps during this time you’ve not been able to see a way out or a way over; But just face it for you’re not exactly playing a game of Red Rover. So square your shoulders back and get ready to stay on track. Now in the meantime don’t forget that God is about to part all those deep rough waters; And that’s when the deliverance from every last bit of the unnecessary opposition will be yours. Just remember that your faithful God is clearing a path out just for you. Now you can rejoice and get ready to cross on over to the victory side and it’s then you will be THROUGH. Yes indeed, God is flipping the script for YOU. So get ready to give Him some praise.

Scripture Of The Day
Good morning
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.”

Give a Lot! HCC
I love to give, not get! How about you?
What gives you the most joy in your time,
In your life? To see the smile of a stranger,
You’ve helped? Does a gift from you,
Help one another in a far away land?
Or is help needed close by? A sister, parents,
A friend in need? Life is not that long,
You know that more when your time,
Is almost gone. Make God smile,
Be a giver, show your love for others,
With a smile, with a helping hand, with love.
