Greetings Friends & Fans,

We kicked it off in Feb. post our final production of PROP 8 ON TRIAL with Chad Lewis & Jason Donnelly's wedding, just last Wednesday, we celebrated the nuptials on John McDonald (Prop 8 On Trial) & Steven Hall and this weekend we celebrate the marriage of veteran company members Mike Lane & Arwen Lowbridge.

In addition to being best friends with Beth Marshall for the past 16yrs and working with her on numerous productions and projects at a plethora of theatrical venues, Mike Lane & Arwen Lowbridge have been valued veteran company members with Beth Marshall Presents since our inception in 2008. Arwen Lowbridge has served as our lead development consultant and strategist as well as an actor in our Graphic Design & Illustration Project in partnership with Orlando Museum of Art as part of our 2011 "OFF THE WALLS "series and an actor in 2011 Play-In-A-Day. Additionally, Arwen has been a contributing artist on PROP 8 ON TRIAL as well as assisting with all of our season auditions and fundraising events.

*Fun Fact: Beth introduced Mike and Arwen during the run of A Christmas Carol when Arwen came to visit  Beth and see the show. It seems impossible that Beth has been BFF's with each of them for over 16 yrs and they JUST met in Dec. of 2010, but it's true! Now they are tying the knot! WHOOHOO!

In addition to their work with us as artists, both Mike and Arwen are donors to our company and are financial backers to our touring shows.

This season marks their last season with us in Orlando as they are marrying this weekend and then moving to Western Massachusetts later this fall. While they may not be in O-Town with us much longer, they ALWAYS will have a home here at BMP and will continue to be company members from afar!

MANY CONGRATS TO THEM ON THEIR WEDDING AND NEXT CHAPTER!

Here, he is a young army recruit during WW II, going through basic training and learning about Life and Love with a capital 'L' along with some harsher lessons, while stationed at boot camp in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1943.

"A play that rings with a newer, deeper, sweeter truth."-New York Magazine

About the play:

Winner of the Tony Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award "After three years in the Peace Corps, James, a young speech therapist, joins the faculty of a school for the deaf, where he is to teach lip-reading. He meets Sarah, a school dropout, totally deaf from birth, and estranged both from the world of hearing and from those who would compromise to enter that world. Fluent in sign language, James tries, with little success, to help Sarah, but gradually the two fall in love and marry. At first their relationship is a happy and glowing one, as the gulf of silence between them seems to be bridged by their desire to understand each other's needs and feelings, but discord soon develops as Sarah becomes militant for the rights of the deaf and rejects any hint that she is being patronized and pitied. In the end the chasm between the worlds of sound and silence seems almost too great to cross...but love and compassion hold the hope of reconciliation, and a deeper, fuller understanding of differences that, in the final essence, can unite as well as divide.

"CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD is an extraordinary play-illuminating, consistently interesting and moving." -Variety.

 RECAP ON ORLANDO FRINGE 2012

CONGRATS TO PAUL STRICKLAND for winning "BEST SOLO SHOW" from Freeline Media!

CONGRATS TO BETH MARSHALL for being honored by having the "SPIRIT OF THE FRINGE AWARD" named after her by Orlando Fringe!

The first ever Beth Marshall SPIRIT OF THE FRINGE AWARD was given to George Wallace (Fringe's General Manager)

Many Congrats goes out to Orlando Fringe for a record-breaking successful 21st Festival! Special kudos goes out to George Wallace (General Manager) and Michael Marinaccio (Festival Producer/Beth's successor) for their work, dedication and leadership of one of Orlando's greatest artistic gems!

We were proud to be artists in this year's festival with a very well received show: Paul Strickland: Jokes, Songs, A Hat, Etc!

We recieved 4 stellar reviews:

"Jokes" is the first show Beth Marshall will produce for Orlando Fringe after 18 years of direct involvement with the Fest. Marshall, who works with Strickland and has hosted his performances in the past, has wisely opted to begin her new relationship with Fringe with a show that sells. Everyone who sees "Jokes" will either like it or love it; there simply isn't a way not to enjoy the show.

Key to Marshall, though, and perhaps key to her ongoing success in Orlando and beyond, is the ability to distinguish between "safe" and "sure". You'll get out of "Jokes" what you are willing to put in: if you just want an hour of laughs, you'll get it; if you want some good tunes too boot you'll have that as well; and if you want some of your conceptions challenged with new ideas, well, "Jokes" does that too. The "Etcetera" in the title of the show represents a massive amount of material to ponder; but only if you want to."

-Samuel Butcher- Fire by Fire

"Strickland is funny and heartwarming without ever getting smarmy. I laughed in his general direction, so should you."

-Carl Gauze- Ink 19

"His dexterous finger-picking evokes a classical guitar style, and his voice is warm and unpretentious, while his lyrics reflect a wistful worldview that feels older than his 32 years."

-Seth Kubersky-Orlando Weekly-

" Golden Pipes"
"Belly Laughs"

Had to share this with everyone!

Here's why we do what we do:

"There are those rare people who can look at the world and see things the rest of us don't see until they show us - these are the writers.

There are the special few who can take that vision and turn it back into a world - these are the directors and designers.

There are fearless beings who can live in that world and show us who we are - these are our actors.

There are dedicated people who know why that world matters so very much - the crew, theatre staff, producers, investors, marketers.

And then there are people who step forward and say 'Show me this world, open me, change me' - these are our audiences.

And when all of these people come together and say 'Yes', there is theatre.
Thank you to everyone who says 'Yes'."
