Welcome Rachel! We are blessed to have you on staff at VIS!

Welcome Rachel

Accounting & Development Coordinator

Before coming to VIS in July 2022, Rachel spent time on staff at her local church and at World Renew. One reason VIS was appealing to her was because of the great work they are doing in Grand Rapids and the surrounding area. She and her family attend First Byron Center CRC.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids and extended family, visiting Traverse City, and reading. Her favorite Bible verse is:

“For I know the plans I have for you,

declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and

not to harm you, plans to give you

hope and future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

1) Urgent-Help filling out form

Rachel is 68 and needs help filling out her Home Heating Tax Credit form. Deadline is September 30 or it will be denied.

2) Spiritual Companion

Barbara is 67 and has some health challenges which keeps her close to home. She would like a spiritual companion.

3) Companion

Debbie is 57 and recently widowed. She struggles with anxiety and depression and would very much like someone to visit with her a couple times per month. She likes to do art and crafts projects. Debbie worked at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in food service for nearly 15 years!

4) Cleaning and Laundry

Kim is 65 and recently had shoulder surgery. She has had some complications which makes it hard to use her right arm. She needs help with her laundry and cleaning. She lives in an apartment and the the laundry facilities are in a nearby building. She has the cleaning and laundry supplies.

SPECIAL URGENT REQUEST

VIS is in need of two washers and a dryer for a family with four children and another family with six children. If you know of someone parting with a good working washer and dryer, please contact Rosemary at rtymes@visgr.org or call 459-7500.
